Played for the shirt, wore it with poide and worked his wotsits off. Not an out and out goalscorer but you always knew you would get 100% effort. Want to thank Jamie for his efforts and fantastic service, especially in the Championship. Not a premiership player??? Ot never really given enough time to prove it???? Not technically the greatest but a very important player for us at times, and extremely proud to wear the hoops, which you sadly cannot say about the majority of the current bunch..........like Boswinga who were only here for the wages
That's astonishing. What a great, if terrifying piece of insight. So we're currently paying SWP 60k a week? Twice what Mackie was on, and 4 times what he would have been on this year. Whatever your opinions of Jamie, he's a better player than Phillips, and exactly the sort of player we'd have needed this season.
Shocking!!! Scored around 10 goals in half a Championship season, did OK when given a run in the Prem (maybe not consistently enough to make a real impact last season) and gave everything in every second he was on the pitch. We'll pay the "right kind of player" a lot more money to sign for us and yet let Mackie go for money reasons. Legends can never be made with this level of staff turnover. We desperately need a wage structure to avoid the good guys having a sense of injustice. I'll say it again - shocking!!!
Well it was Thursday? Jamie Mackie joins Nottingham Forest from QPR for £1m Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of QPR forward Jamie Mackie for a fee of around £1m, reports BBC East Midlands Today. The 27-year-old Scotland striker has agreed a three-year contract at the City Ground after having a transfer request accepted by QPR on Thursday. Mackie scored 18 goals in 94 appearances for Rangers after moving to Loftus Road from Plymouth in 2010. Forest also signed Algeria winger Djamel Abdoun on Thursday. QPR said they "reluctantly accepted" the transfer request from Mackie, who started 17 Premier League matches last season. Mackie has been capped nine times by Scotland, came through the Wimbledon youth system and has also had a spell at Exeter. please log in to view this image
Best of luck to him ...................... that's how you do a deal, not this 2-3 weeks of hanging on crap!
Sorry to see him go, he is a good Championship player. Aged 27. That must push the average age of our squad up a little bit further. I am starting to fear for our chances this season.
Thanks for the effort Jamie, one of the few who can hold their heads up and say they'd given it the best shot...
There was a time he was linked to the likes of Everton in the Premier League, so the fact that he's wound up at Forest perhaps is an indication that his stock has fallen somewhat. I wish him all the best and will not dwell that long on his departure.
The funny thing is just started a career as hoops manager on Football Manager2013 and the first transfer bid I got was from Forest to buy Mackie for £4mil, spooky
The club should hang its head low by letting this happen. Harold looking for the right sort 46 games in a tough league In what world would you not like Mackie in your squad He will do well and we will have to watch him
That goal he scored at City still amazes me even now...... A decent player who was always committed....wouldn't have been one of the first to let go.....hope Harold has a plan Z because all the others are being used up at an alarming rate of knots.....
Thanks jamie for the effort you put in, not the most gifted player but has a heart of gold for this club & there is other players that should have gone before mackie.
Then perhaps bring in Marlon King & Titus Bramble? We could also add Bradley Johnson from Norwich, bring back Barton and be Leeds style enforcers - Joe Jordan would love that.
