Just hope it keeps grounded. Sunderland are an average Championship side, we've spent £375m in the last couple of years. 3-0 is a good, but expected, result. The ethos was back, though. What's clear is we are decent with a week to rest - I think this game showed why we achieved so much last season, but failed so badly this time around. We need to find a balance, a strength of squad, a resilience of player to allow us to play this way twice a week. I'm not getting carried away but I always had a feeling that as the schedule slowed down we'd be able to have a good second half. But next year we've got to find a way to do this in the first half of a season, when games come thick and fast. What I do like is Howe changed a little - I'm not sure I'm a fan of "when we score 1 more, we can take someone off (Joelinton). Then if we score again, take everyone off." Because we only went 3-0 at effectively full time. Howe's just got to keep learning and adapting. I think he'll get a free swing this year, but the caveat will be "make sure players stay fit, and don't go through this run again". I think that's probably, on balance, fair enough.
I’ve gone in for 5. By the way, what the **** have they done to Newcy Broon? Choked it down, but by god it’s different.
Haven't had it in years tbh, lager is my go to for the football. 3 cans of Bud, 3 of 1664 and various mixer cans so far, time to head to the pub now.
