Thats worse than inviting an alcoholic down the pub saying you'll get his drinks in. In fact any moral high ground in this thread has well and truly been lost.

Can't believe the pathetic bastards timed it for around the 17th minute as well. You almost have to admire them.

If they're coming round again they could at least throw some incendiaries in Carver's direction

Well A) That person was clearly joking; and B) I didn't ****ing say it did I?

Even if it did crash into our dugout, you know everyone would perish except Carver

The timing was **** I agree.
All the decent Mackems will be shaking their head at the rednecks who paid for this.
There will be some starving Mackem kids in Pennywell this week.

it didn't turn up at the 17th minute and it was that high up and far away you couldn't see what it said
the fact that I heard about it on here was the reason I could tell others what it was supposed to say

If they were true Mackem fans then I assume they hounded the pilot out early on by throwing their tickets at him, half the crew then bailed out before the rest were relegated to the 2nd class compartment.

Newcastle were most recently relegated if you weren't aware <ok>

The plane is a stupid middle class idea of 'banter' but, I have to say that if Sunderland people had made comments about planes being shot down, there'd be a fair few Newcastle posters who'd quite rightly be angry and disappointed after the MH17 donations.

I'll never donate to these stupid 'causes' like planes, protests or NUS ......... just sad people tossing themselves off imo.

I think the joke was originally aimed at the petition your lads started about the boycoutt or whatever and a joke one about the plane was started in opposition, however with petitions if enough people sign up it kind of has to happen and apparently enough did not in good taste imo as were looking buggered!

This thread got very serious with talk of moral high ground etc.

They are entitled to gloat in any way they see fit. If they want to spend money like that, fill their boots. All this saying Frank wanting to shoot it down with missiles is bad taste etc is a bit tenuous. FFS, they are just having a laugh as is he. I'd never contribute to something like this, but only because I have better things to do with my money and it feels a bit toffy.

What happened to just taking the piss down the bar or at work. Or on these forums. Its free and more effective.

Was pretty embarrassing but to be fair to Sunderland fans.
    1. I think the vast majority of their fans don't agree with it or embarrassed by it.
    2. Fans were clearly disagree on social media sites/fans forum.
    3. It's always a minority who embarrass the majority.
    4. All clubs have had embarrassment from the minority of fans.
    5. Not the only club to fly a silly banner over a football ground.
