I'm sure I heard that mackay's mate, the chief scout (not Baden Powell) got the blame for.overspending which is why he was sacked. I thought tan's gripe was Mackay mentioned it to press before discussing with him.

But I've not seen any sports news.today so things may have moved on?

Just when Assem was starting to forge a clear lead in the bonkers owner race, little Vincent goes and throws down the gauntlet again.

Clarke is too much like Malky, I think it'll be Zola or another non British manager.

Oh this did make me chuckle !!

It's moved on from

'BBC Sport understands'

to

'BBC Sport has learned.'

Which is more concrete and less speculative.

Thank **** this craziness is happening at another club

....isn't it?

What a bizzare situation. It's even more illogical than ours. How come he got so pissed off by Mackay's comments? All he said was he'd like to sign some players, but he knows it's up to Tan.

Because he came out and said he wanted to sign some more players even though the board had already given them £15M extra in the summer. With the division between manager and board public knowledge already it was clearly an effort to force them into providing yet more money by having the fans side with the manager who'd done a **** job of making signings compared to others with much more limited budgets, but who had identified the weaknesses and wanted to improve them.

I'd be pissed as well if I gave someone a budget to do something, they went nearly 50% over and then asked me for more money despite other people going out and doing a better job for less than their overspend. (yeah, our total spend was smaller than the amount they went over their budget by)

Anyone who has ever had a job that contains a budget and financial expectations would be fired. I know that I would have been fired if I had gone over budget and brought in less than I was expected to. Forget about demanding more money to do the job I was expected to do in the first place. Their owner might be a lunatic but Mackay being forced out isnt an issue as far as I would be concerned.

My only grievance with Cardiff is that it seemed like a lot of their fans too readily accepted changing their club colours in exchange for investment.

It also seems now that more are regretting not standing up to Tan earlier (if you read their forums) whilst also noting our response to the name change (bar a fair few on this forum/RH and HDM users).

However, that said, they are a relegation rival, so I hope this situations drags on and out across the season culminating in a Zowie Dowie type appointment.

Bugger that! If they want relegation that badly we have no need to rival them - let them have it without a fight.

He would lose a pay off if he resigned. Expect he will end up at WBA now.

Significant that Fernandes (WBA) HAS spoken out against both Tan and Allam.

Ricardo (below) has it spot on.

Exactly. Mackay is acting like a ****.

Ok, so I've taken out the word 'more', but this reminds me very much of the Barmby/Allam situation just before Nick was suspended, Mackay also had a close associate sacked recently in a similar fashion to the way AP's services were dispensed with before Nick's suspension.

Tanman & Pappa Smurf working in perfect harmony?

QPR, but yes it is significant.

An Asian businessman who has chosen to keep QPR as they are. Interestingly it's just reminded me, traditionally they've always had Jude the Cat as their mascot. When Briatore and Ecclestone owned them they brought in the Indian Lakshmi Mittal as a major shareholder (he's still involved with Fernandes), and a few months later they added a second mascot to help market them in India. The relevance being it was Spark the Tiger.

The more is pretty key.

It would have been very different from the fans' perspective if Barmby had just spent £7M plus wages on players (Cardiff spent £50M from approx £70M turnover this season, so £7M from £10M proportional for us).

I have to be honest though, I was one of the fans that saw Barmby's comments as questioning the Allams so I wasn't outraged that they decided to sack him. Whether he was right or wrong to question them, there weren't any grounds for complaint when he went public with the comments he did. I am not going and digging up specific interviews almost 2 years later to pick out the comments in question, I just know there were specific ones that I thought were questionable.

What a wimp this Tan **** is.

Sack him if that's what you want.

I hope Mackay goes into his office, looks him in the eye, and tells him he isn't going anywhere unless he sacks him.

Get what is yours Malky. What a farce.

Shame we're no better.

You can't argue that Tan isn't a little mental, but MM really has done a **** job there, cost them a fortune and is not delivering anything. Compared to say AVB and Levy, why doesn't Spurs attract the same type of comment as Cardiff is?

I don't see how he's done such a terrible job. 15th is pretty much where Cardiff SHOULD be in their first season, even with the spending. And of the three big-money buys, two have had successful seasons - only Cornelius is yet to show he's worth the money.

He would lose a pay off if he resigned..

Not now. If that email that Tan was supposed to have sent to MM on monday does exist then Mackay can walk now and sue for constructive dismissal. It will only only cost Tan man £2.5m anyway. Lol.

Dont we have thread on this already ?

Merge.
