I think we now have 4 home games in the next 5, so maybe a chance to accumulate a few points and getting confidence up. I'm going for a decent 3-1 win, don't care who scores. Anyone think Bigal may go for 2-1?
Nuggets, do you think we are more suited to teams that are expected to do well and play more expansive football? I do, i think we will struggle against physical, defensive sides but do well against more open sides
Spanish, when (if?) this team clicks, I think we'll be too much for the teams that play physical, defensive football. I believe the main reason we're struggling against those type of teams at the moment is because the onus is on us (the favourites) to attack. We're too disorganised at the back to deal with their quick counter attacks, where they're happy to soak up the pressure against our attackers, who haven't quite gelled and combined effectively yet. This was particularly prevalent against the two newly-promoted teams. My hope is that the bedding in process won't take that long and we'll get our first win of the season, which will hopefully clear the gloom and kickstart the campaign. I think we'll struggle against good teams that play more expansive football, but my thinking is that MK Dons aren't quite to that standard and the recent departure of Russell Martin - the manager so integral to their way of playing - will swing things in our favour. My concern is when we come up against those bigger, more fancied teams. Our record against those clubs that finish in the 'top seven', over the last couple of seasons, has been terrible. That's an indictment on the previous coaching team and, by extension, the standard/mentality of our players beforehand. I'm hoping this new-look team and the investment over the summer will improve our record against the fellow teams that have a credible chance of promotion.
3-1 Troy Parrot is doing well and will prove it was our fault he was **** for us against our defence that forgot again to bring any hair gel...
For me....this is more like it, defence is how we would want it to look, apart from Edmundson in for Wolfie. Fraser starting in the 10 position and Burns wide right!!
