That’s why we need an experienced person at the back - someone like Kalas maybe? Oh…… I we can’t play him can we…..?

Centre back position is not the problem it's right back and right midfield that are the problem so far this season.

Might be able to hold our own but need to be much more creative, not enough movement without the ball, lots of passes went astray IMO

Fair enough. I haven’t managed to see anything of us so far this season - just reading the text updates on BBC Sport.

Centre back may not be the problem, our full backs defending is the problem.
Hence why, and for the life of me, I can't understand why Pearson doesn't include Kalas and change the system.
And no Ashton, why on earth play Kalas out of position.

Thought he’d played RB before he came to us. Besides at the moment he’s not playing at all, we have a problem at RB and he’s played there before.

I haven’t actually seen them play this season, listened to radio coverage for all the matches so it’s difficult to judge, but I don’t see what they are trying to do, they don’t seem to have a plan. It seems NP has a preferred way of playing but we don’t have the players to play that system, so end up playing square pins in round holes
. KP is not a left sided midfielder and CM is too isolated up top on his own, he’s not quick enough, tall enough or strong enough to hold the ball up and allow our midfielders to join him.

Kalas is an international central defender.
Ashton, admire your thinking, the system and Pearson is the problem.
And the squad left by Johnson and Ashton.

Ummm. So we have scored 2 goals so far this season. 1 by Martin supplied by King, the other supplied by James and scored by King, can I suggest that creativity needs to come from the other 3 midfielders?

Only one full back has been the problem so far this season, I cannot recall any problems down our left at all.

First 2/3 seasons LJ had them playing much better than what we have now, more.in tune, more space and awareness.
In depth we lacked when players were out injured or banned, replacements changed dynamics.. two/three quality players short.
The games I managed to see towards the end of last season and the two this has been underwhelming, I expected more from Pearson’s guidance..

Correct so none of the other 3 have so far created anything in 2 games, but the 2 new boys have in both games.

It’s ok Jiffie, I know you didn’t mean offence! We are a small band on here that post with any regularity, so we will not always agree on everything. Keep on with your great posts and points of view, it’s what keeps this forum worth coming on!!

Factually he’s not wrong. I think a touch harsh on Weimann who pretty much had a whole year out, so will need a few games to get his sharpness and confidence back.

Weimann was too weak last Saturday in the build up to the late equaliser, he missed 2 great chances and today he lost his man who scored their 2nd. Our form obviously is not great but how does a manager cut out the glaring mistakes made in the 2 games by Vyner and Weimann? He is not a midfielder IMHO and never will be, the combination of him and Vyner are like the dangerous brothers and have cost us 3 points already this season.

But the new blokes seem to be getting the grief and they at least delivered with both of our goals this season.
