Is LVG still around? I thought he would have been fired by now. What is Woodward waiting for? Oh well may be next morning when I wake up..
It'd be funny if this happened, too . . . 4-0 loss at MK dons might be the worst result for you guys this year. If I was a Man Utd fan I'd certainly hope that this will be the case.
Well played to MK Dons for a great victory. Life is about taking the opportunities that present. They played well, destroyed the shower that was in front of them. And they fully deserve all the acclaim they are getting today. As for United, they have lost but will (have to) move on. More things are learnt in defeat than in victory. For me apart from the general lack of desire, were the disappointing performances from Evans and Hernandez. Anderson I knew was useless. But Evans was full of mistakes. His postioning was wrong throughout. Hernandez is just no longer himself. He is the classic Fergie player whose talent seems to have gone with SAF. This confirms what I have said all along that the recruiting of new players will need to be more extensive than many here thought. United played an experimental team (with some experienced players too) and they got thrashed. Fully deserved but not unexpected (by me at least).
Very decent post, Christian. I totally agree with all of it. I think LVG has a decent project on his hands and, given time (which Moyes wasn't given, rightly or wrongly), he'll do well at United. There are some positives to be focused upon, Di Maria coming in being a major one. Liverpool fans have been through a somewhat similar situation in the early nineties, but I doubt you'll be in the premier league wilderness for as long as we were. Stay positive and ignore the WUMs (myself included) and the fast-retreating plastics (good riddance!).
The key difference between LVG and Moyes is that, regardless of current form - which is itself no guide as to how the season will pan out given the current injury list, at Least LVG has proven experience of turning things around - Moyes didn't have a clue from day one. The current formation woes are there simply because LVG doesn't have a full complement of players available yet, never mind the new signings yet to come in this, and the January window. If you know someone knows what they are doing, you can be a lot more forgiving if form dips while they sort things out - a completely different situation from last season with Moyes, who was never going anywhere but under. Just chill out, relax and enjoy what will sometimes be a madcap ride with LVG at the wheel - and hang on for the squad, the tactics and the results to shape up. Who gives a damn if we lose a few early season fixtures, it's not like its Christmas.
