A happy read for once from Clive... https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...ws/53901/and-then-a-hero-comes-along-–-report This paragraph sums up what I've been saying about Dykes since he joined.... Here comes the science. When Lyndon Dykes was starting out professional life in the Scottish Championship with Queen of the South in 2016/17 he scored just four times in 27 starts and 11 sub appearances. In 2017/18 that improved a bit, eight goals in 37 starts and seven sub outings. And a season later in 2018/19 he got ten in 52. More startling was the form of his partner, 74-year-old Stephen Dobbie, who was playing for Glasgow Rangers when Dykes was still at infants school, and now needs a Stannah Stairlift to get up to bed every night (won’t be long now, just you wait, things I’m going to do to you). Alongside Dykes, Dobbie scored 26 in 16/17, 27 in 17/18 and 43 (!!) (not a misprint) in 18/19. With Charlie now alongside him, I'd hope that we see the better side of Dykes game, his hold up play and supply to Austin and possibly Chair.

Really like Dickie. Applies himself so well. In fact reminds me of Mackie in terms of application and determination. I think he's improved and continues to improve. I hoped Charlie and Dykes would work well and was thrilled to see my hunch in the starting lineup. Lot of feel good atm which is great. Hope we can keep gaining some points.
It's hard not to be optimistic after that result. I'm just trying to not get carried away as we are Rangers after all. Dickie is a good centre back imo. He just needs to eradicate the odd bad error which may just be a concentration thing. Austin and Dykes could well be a winning combination.
Excellent stuff. Good to have him back. Hope stays fit and lifts the team in general. Every team player needs a guiding light. Now we have one.
I think the back 3 have done well, improved a hack individually, since Warburton went 3 at the back. All 3 of them Dickie, Cameron and Barbet look more comfortable in this formation. Then the 3 5 2 allows him to play 2 strikers at the front which certainly seemed to suit Austin and Dykes. If BOS stays and Warburton and Austin can insist he put some crosses in from the left, and not try to beat every defender first, and Kane can continue to cross as he did Saturday we should score some goals.
