Following their hard fought win over Middlesbrough, next up for Steve Cooper’s Swansea squad is an away trip to play struggling Luton.

Swansea City ended a six-match winless run as Andre Ayew scored two goals to help them beat Middlesbrough who ended the match with only nine men on the pitch.

Ayew's first-half penalty put the hosts in front before Marcus Tavernier equalised after the break with a powerful effort.

But just three minutes later, Boro were down to 10 men when substitute Marcus Browne was sent off for a lunge on Mike van der Hoorn.

Ayew then restored the Swans' lead and Sam Surridge added a third before Paddy McNair saw red for a late elbow on Matt Grimes.

Whilst the Swans were beating ‘Boro, Preston North End scored a late winner to beat a resilient Luton and go third in the Championship.

Paul Gallagher opened the scoring early on, tapping in a rebound after his initial penalty had been saved.

Luton then levelled as James Collins struck a spot-kick of his own straight down the middle after Paul Huntington tripped Callum McManaman in the box.

But Preston substitute Jayden Stockley ensured victory with six minutes remaining, slotting the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.

The Swans have played the Hatters on 50 previous occasions, winning 18, losing 21 and drawing 11.

It is almost 12 years since the teams last met (February 2008) when the Swans ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a Tom Butler goal.

Turning to Saturday, I think that the Swans will return home with at least a point. 2-1 to the Swans
