I can't argue about the tackle at Watford, no idea what was going through his head at that point.
If Dan Neil got everything right, all the time he wouldn't be playing for us.
Players mature at different rates and in a years time he could be a totally different player.
I have no problem with his ability or his application, yes he has the odd brain fart but so do we all. I'm more than happy to take the rough with the smooth and just enjoy a young lad playing for Sunderland and trying his best.
Wouldn't we all love to be in his position :emoticon-0100-smile

been sitting here trying to think back, i did say dan neil seemed to have hit another 'static period' as he has done previously then one game he just kicks on again and i have now convinced mesel that it seems to follow with a new coach/slightly different position/different role, now i could be well off the mark with that but i think he has been tasked with being the extra defender rather than a more playmaker role...i do think his past couple of games have shown an improvement.

truthfully, i guess i can have a go at almost every player if wanted (apart from patto cos he has done nowt) so this is not so much picking on one lad but me trying to say that he is not that bad and i am sure he will keep improving in that position and role.

Neil made two pretty big clangers so it’s natural to be more sensitive to his errors since. Jobe hasn’t made the big mistake yet so not so sensitive to it. Not a witch hunt by anyone, it’s simply human nature. Once someone else makes a big mistake the focus will move.

I think the international break has done Neil good. Been better for me since then. Hopefully trajectory remains up tomorrow.

    It’s a fair cop …

… but worth the fine to make it clear we won’t be bullied by the likes of Luton.

Its what went on before the final whistle they should be addressing, but I doubt they care.

Luton's keeper started it all by having a go at Mepham. If the referee actually spotted this, then maybe nothing would've happened

To be fair to the ref I think he was getting **** from a couple of their players at the time so missed it.
