So just in case Ned gets overraught following the twitter/facebook demoralisation and humiliation and justbu@@ers off, thus leaving us with no-one to hate... Our backroom team, have thoughtfully provided us with a long term solution....a contract extension to another R that we can constantly attack and despise.


OKay I am being ironic or sardonic....(off to look it up)....excuse me a moment......Okay I am being both. So where was I ......

Ned, Luongo, Mackie, Conor....these are all good honest footballers they are not in the same mould as previous wearers of the blessed hooped shirt such as (Boswinga, Caulker etc).
....lets actually support them all.

I am impressed by the management tying talented people down, offering support to them and set up long-term planning, so people know we are trying to build

Well done Lee, Les and Ollie.

I like Luongo too. He doesn't have the presence (hopefully he will at some point) of a dominant midfielder but he gets stuck in well and wins a lot of 50:50s and has a decent eye for a pass.

There are goals in him too (just cannot say when).

Good work all at the club.

The potential is there but he is a serial under-achiever in the hoops thus far. This is only good news if he is played on merit. Definitely should be dropped after several awful showings IMO.

God almighty....can't say anything these days on here.......

Tell you what Col read the threads especially the match day threads to see how many posters think he's rubbish and shouldn't be selected.......that's what our fans have become and that's what I'm referring too.......that's not stirring that's stating fact......in fact Beth has said the same thing in the op.......what is your problem?

My problem is your stirring.

As for Luongo, I quite like him but he does seem very inconsistent.

What stirring? Luongo, ned, henry, perch are for some reason all made scapegoats on here..........thats not stirring that's stating fact......

He has potential to be a good player let's hope it's with us.......but some posters will be on his back at first mistake he makes.....

I was with you until you mentioned Perch.

He looks like a man who's realised his best chance of an afternoon off is to accumulate two yellows as quickly as possible.

Strangely, I think he plays better in every position other than RB.

I'm very pleased that Luongo has signed an extension. He's irritatingly inconsistent but, at his best, he's excellent: a good passer and a strong tackler, with a good touch. He's young and is capable of developing into a wonderful player; I just want to see his good side more often!

I think people are losing sight of what a scapegoat actually is. It means someone who is blamed for the mistakes of others. The likes of luongo, Ned, perch etc have all made very costly mistakes this season (some more than others) which have caused us to lose points. They're not scapegoats.

Polter was a scapegoat for me. The man may have been lacking in a little quality but he didn't put a foot wrong in terms of his mentality and work rate whenever he pulled on the shirt. Even chipped in with a few goals.

On topic, very pleased he's decided to sign a new deal. He's shown glimpses of the player I think we all know he can be. Think with maturity we will see it on a far more consistent basis. Desperately needs a goal as well.

I just want him to score. Home and away. On the pitch too.

Anyway as he's signed we'll probably get some cash for him when we are struggling in League 1.

Now that we've given Mass a good contract, he had better put a serious shift in from now on. I'd like to see him really step it and commit and lead the team. He's still got a lot of growing to do, but he needs to take the reins and carry the team more.

A great summary of my opinion!

I just love the phrase "irritatingly inconsistent". It is so apt to Luongo.
 
An acid test for me on a player is whether I would want him playing against us. I wouldn't be too bothered by Luongo, particularly since scoring goals is not part of his game, at present anyway.

His movement is sometimes impressive, may be he'll come good. I just don't think he's what we need on the pitch right now, but credit to Holloway and Ferdinand, Luke Freeman and Matt Smith look promising
