I may be wrong on this but I seem to recall that whilst they can sign a contract at 17 they are legally entitled to walk away from it without penalty up the the age of 18. So yes he has a contract but it is not binding on him.
Nothing ever surprises me in football. None of us REALLY know what Luke is like, what family pressures he may have, whether his agent is in is earhole every other minute wanting a big pay day for himself. We will see, no doubt even if he does sign a contract, the media will still say he's leaving, so best to just let it wash over you because there is absolutely nothing we can do about it.
This is quite amusing: http://sabotagetimes.com/reportage/...w-three-other-talented-southampton-teenagers/ In short, Man U are not only after Luke Shaw, but also JWP, Calum Chambers, and Ryan Sinclair.
So far only read the Shaw part and seems odd they seem to be talking from the perspective of the end of the 2011-2012 season even though the article was written a couple of days ago. Thought something was wrong when they say he only made one senior appearance for us in the 2012-2013 season
"I've never really wanted to go to Japan, simply because I don't like eating fish and I know that's very popular out there in Africa" - Britney Spears.
And the comments on it are from last year and from the point of view of Arsenal not United haha. I know most of that stuff is usually regurgitated garbage, but to literally recycle an article and just change the team name...
Luke seems happy and everything from the club suggests he will sign in July....in fact Nicola has set his alarm for 30 seconds after midnight on Shaw's birthday to stop anyone else getting in first. Really glad to be back on my computer and not a friend's Tablet...annoying thing.
I don't think it's Shaw we should be worried about. I think the most likely 1st teamer to leave is Morgan.
I think Morgan is well and truly signed up for this journey, especially now we are safe. If we are poor next season and don't show a strong progression, then maybe. For now he seems as happy as any one of them.
If you had said that before he signed a new contract I'd agree with you. But he's go a contract until 2017 and he's happy here so as long as we continue to progress he will stay.
I hope you're right! Plus, Cortese wont be an easy touch when it comes to loosing our best players, i'm confident of that.
Oh my, Ryan Sinclair....Has the saints academy now resorted to genetically engineering our players together.
