I feel the same hopeful but prepared for a kick on the balls.

If he goes to a championship club fair enough. There are one or two I'd prefer not to see him go to but we can't effect that. Recruitment (and retention) team being tested hugely this month. Lets hope they do enough to get us up.I feel guilty now.

I'd imagine he cleared his locker at the end of the season, if indeed covid permits them to store any personal belongings at the AOLHad yer horses, it didn't come straight from the manager and being back in doesn't mean he will be signing up again, it could be more talks or even just saying goodbye and clearing out his locker!

[On] Charlie, I would say the door is ajar, but we're certainly not expecting him to come back," said Johnson. "I'd say that it would be him coming back to us and saying he wants to talk again, effectively. "My gut says that he will move on, I'd say 95 percent that he'll move on. "But we would leave the door ajar because at the moment, you never know. "There's a lot of people talking in the Championship but who aren't in a great place in terms of being able to commit to players financially. "They seem to have been hit the hardest and in some cases, it's the League One clubs who seem to be the largest spenders." Johnson says he has been in frequent dialogue with O'Nien and says he is 'hopeful' that the versatile midfielder will sign a new deal, while discussions with Hume are also continuing. He said: "Denver is ongoing, that one I haven't been too involved in to be honest. "With Luke, I must have spoken to him every other day for the last three or four weeks. "I'm hopeful on that one, but it's not quite there yet. "It's good signs."
I wouldn't have thought that, in this new era of professionalism at the club, the management team would be leaking anything at all about signings!I'd imagine he cleared his locker at the end of the season, if indeed covid permits them to store any personal belongings at the AOL
I don't think the management team would be making statements like that if things weren't all agreed
Aye, but the correction was only about who the quotes came from. It's not as if the tweeter was claiming Johnson said it when in fact it was just some random in the crowd - you'd assume the Assistant Coach is "in the know"I wouldn't have thought that, in this new era of professionalism at the club, the management team would be leaking anything at all about signings!
My point is though, the person cited in the first tweet is corrected by a subsequent tweet so, for the time being, I am keeping my scepticism hat firmly in place.
The Chron: Johnson has been in frequent dialogue with O9 and IS HOPEFUL that O9 will sign a new contract.Aye, but the correction was only about who the quotes came from. What do you expect him to say man? **** me, it's as if people on here (and over the road) believe EVERY word uttered or printed if it's bad news, but become the world's biggest sceptic if it's positive. The Chron: Johnson has been in frequent dialogue with O9 and IS HOPEFUL that O9 will sign a new contract.

All of which shows that patience is important in the summer recruitment process. There will be players who would love to be here but who will want to assess all of their options before commiting to anything. Just because no one is through the door yet doesn't mean there's a problem with a recruitment process. You must log in or register to see media
No. Let me repeat what the assistant coach is reported as saying. What do you expect him to say man? **** me, it's as if people on here (and over the road) believe EVERY word uttered or printed if it's bad news, but become the world's biggest sceptic if it's positive.
Let me say it again - the Assistant Coach told supporters that Luke O'Nien "will be back in on Monday"
Interpret that how you will, but it's pretty clear what is being implied
might be trying to imply that he is more in the know than he actually is - which wouldn't be the last time that someone tried to make themselves sound more important now would it?!
Is it does he want to stayGreat news!
Yeah mate he’s looking for a better deal or new club ?????It's ongoing. Don't listen to the idiots over the road.
