I think that means he has now scored more league goals than any Saints player other than Rickie, whilst playing for a struggling team in Coventry! Given his age and his clear improvement already this season I reckon we should get him before any of our competitors do, surely he would add more competition for places.
Coventry manager confirmed there has been an official bid from another Championship club in his post match interview aswell. He said that the offer was a significant one and it was up to the board wether ot not to sell.
To be fair, Jutkiewicz is a local lad, he's a Saints fan and he knows Adam Lallana well from academy days. I think he would relish the chance of playing for his boyhood club especially if we're near to getting back into Premier League.
Maybe there is something in all this then. If he's the man they want, then I trust Nigel has done his homework. He does seem to fit the criteria for new players for us.
1. The article suggests that buying both Jutkiewicz and Maynard seemed sensible - I agree 2. Using Guly as cover for Lambert is fine but then who is your cover for Guly? 3. One of my favourite goals over the last few seasons http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byK2oBB_ucQ Erm... This article posted by LSBS btw! http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footbal...?storyid=14879
No thanks, if we are looking to build for the premiership, which I guess we are - whether this season or not - then we should be aiming for better quality, i.e. sharp, maynard, rodrigues or even current prem striker. Fair enough he isnt playing in the greatest team currently, but I think bringing in someone like that wouldn't have a great impact on our squad.
we need to get out of this league first. so if Sir Nigel sees him as the man to give us the strength in depth we need up front, then i'm on the bus. Too many people thought we might struggle in the Championship with L1 players. Sir Nigel knew better.
If hes passionate about the Saints and has loved the club since a boy, i have no problem at seeing him play.
Press conference with Beckham & Henry due tomorrow lunch time I know it's not an exciting example but Lukas or the next striker we sign could be a player in the mould of Jonathan Forte. By which I mean is capable at this level and can make an impact off the bench if required, but is not going to sulk if he is not starting. I know they say you shouldn't buy players who are not better than what you already have but the reality is that sometimes you need that and we're short of cover upfront.
do not know too much about him, did see his wonder goal and he seems a big lad, fair pace with good strength, would be a fearsome combo with lambert with the crosses that we deliver.I saywould suit us better than other more expensive options
According to a Coventry forum, a journalist has tweeted that talk of the Saints bid for Lukas is a red herring to raise the price from M'boro. Who knows!
