I've no idea how he played against you. Hence why I asked I'm not wumming. I just happened to commit the terrible crime of wanting to know how one of our promising teenagers performed against reasonably decent opposition in a Premier League game and what his best/worst attributes were throughout his time on the pitch. It's okay though I asked the Liverpool fans who were much more helpful and responsive as was SuperAl on the Chelsea board and YV on here
You can hardly blame people for judging you by the standard which you've set yourself, DL. I thought it was a genuine question, personally, but we all judge people on their past behaviour. Lukaku was very disruptive, when he came on. His physicality totally threw Gallas, much like Drogba's used to. Or Heskey... It'll be interesting to see how he develops during his time at West Brom.
I understand that my previous has gone against me. In hindsight I actually realise I should have perhaps waited till Monday at the earliest to ask instead of hours after the game but it is a Bank Holiday tbf. Thanks for the feedback PNP, I hope he can continue and get a start. He's shown that he can be a problem for well-established sides like Liverpool and Spurs so there's no reason why he can't make it. I only asked because prior to his loan there were big concerns over whether he could cut it at this level. He really lacked fitness and sharpness but looked okay in pre-season. The feedback from many on here and the Liverpool board gives me optimism he can make it at Chelsea.
If nothing else, the he certainly looks like a pain in the arse as a Plan B. Very different option to Torres or Sturridge.
It's been mentioned a lot he lacks composure in front of goal. Hopefully he can work on that. I thought that type of striker was dying out but I hope he's more Drogba than Heskey
As some have said, this didn't need to have been asked in a new thread, it should have been placed in the THFC vs WBA match thread but you've asked a question and so I'll give an honest opinion:- He changed the game to be fair. WBA didn't look like getting an equaliser until he came on, that being said, he doesn't look the most composed, I can't see him being a 20/30 goal a season man, can understand the certain comparisons with Drogba but I don't think he'll reach a similar standard, will become a very good player though I reckon. But lets be honest, I'm basing my point from the 30 minutes he had on the pitch against us so it's hardly anything to go by.
Not sure about that last bit. Drogba looked crap when he first joined the league and Lukkaku has plenty of time to improve his game, although Drogba's has some big shoes to fill. It'll be interesting to see how he does against a more defensive side where he'll have to show more ability on the ball rather than just running and if he's started rather than coming on as an impact player.
Drogba never really got his act together till Sheva signed. After that he realised it could be his last season so played like a man possessed. Lukaku seems to have healthy competition at WBA so I'm hopeful he'll benefit from that and it will encourage him to work harder
