Oh **** off - when you live in Manchester part-time you get used to calling Man Utd - United and Newcastle United - Newcastle as that's what everyone calls them there and it saves confusion. Maybe if you were born and bred in Newcastle, and have never travelled further than Gateshead then you might recognise Newcastle United as the one true United but for us global jetsetters our horizons have been expanded.

 

The chant is childish and at the very low end of the spectrum of racist behaviour, certainly. The reason it causes some people some offence, though, is that the reason black men were thought to have big cocks is that the were less highly evolved and therefore had the characteristics of animals.
