Ensil, you are too hard on Notso. He is a humanitarian, he sees the best in every man, even a wretch such at Little Luke. You won't stop him trying to save the poor mite. Just let him go. Please, let him go.
Its about debate Ens, its not about everything you read being right and having to agree. I don't know why you give him such a hard time, far worse visit this board!, but as you say, each to their own.
Little Luke, I hear what you are saying, but I think the reason that Fergie didn't push too hard to sign our Moddy is because he instinctively knows that he cannot be a direct replacement for Paul Scholes. Moddy is not that kind of player - unfortunately for us, as I happen to rate Scholes as having been the best English attacking midfielder I have ever seen in my long time watching football. That's not to take anything away from Moddy, as he does have Scholes range of passing, and quick vision. But, in all fairness, Scholes could have been played as a forward, too. I don't think Moddy would achieve too much in that role.
He did exactly that in the season we finished 4th because Huddlestone played, who sat the deeper of the two, and also dictated play to either wideman, or forward to Mod in the advanced position, however, the arrival of VdV has now hampered that a little aswell.
I'm sorry, but that betrays only the fact that you obviously have not watched every single game he's played. And I know that - as someone who has - for a fact, because I can absolutely assure you that Moddy has probably been our most consistent player. The only reason why he is not currently being revered as the greatest midfield of last season with the greatest number of play-making assists is because we had three of the most incompetent strikers in the entire FA - across ALL divisions. Modric is a genius.
How can you say I came on spouting Venom mate? that is not right, your comments across the City board have been in this class, I certainly have not gone down that route, you are getting carried away man and that is out of order. My opinion that Modric is a good tidy player is actually what I believe, I dont believe him to be the talent you guys do but do class him as a good player if somewhat overrated in part by Spurs fans. Am I not entitled to this viewpoint? I also don't think Spurs will qualify for the Cl this year, though they wont be far off, they will struggle massively to qualify going forward, Arsenal will struggle also, there is no shame in admitting that with the way the EPL has gone and the money bandit clubs like Chelsea and City have injected. I think Arsenal will turn it around and get the 4th spot in the end as they have for the last 14 years, I guess I am being a unrealistic though to a Spurs fan but certainly this would be my minium ask for the team. I have never taken joy from Spurs struggles,(well maybe the odd time :O) ) I think it helps both clubs to have a strong healthy rivalry to push each other on, the derby games are really developing into the best derby game in football for me with goals and quality entertainment near guaranteed each time. Good luck Sunday, should be a cracking game either way.
