people are very different in person than in a group of people, never mind the internet where there are no direct consequences of being "incendiary":D

The more people you put together the more they become a herd with a herd mentality, this is true.

Besides I am only going on what's been said here and there by one or two that have met you personally and some of what you post. Got the impression you're an OK lad with the ability to be a right **** <laugh>

The anonymity of the net gives people the opportunity to be more controversial than they might choose to be in a traditional social environment, because it's basically nothing more than a facile exchange of views between total strangers.

The herd mentality does exist - see rawk for full details <laugh> in fact that's more of a cult

I'm sure we could share a pint and have a laugh in 'real life', you could bore me ****less with your conspiracy theories and I could laugh in your face :)

I think your getting your morals somewhat confused tbh.

Suarez cheats in his professional career, there's victims caused by his cheating, as it's altered results and impacted on other professionals, so it's in no way comparable to a spectator telling a meaningless lie.

I don't think it's got anything to do with the digital age either, we'd be saying the same things and having the same conversations about it at home, work or the pub, if we were relying solely on TV and the written press

No need for the insults!

Danny Higginbottom on TalkSport...

"FIFA should put a probation period on top of his ban. Do something as silly in the next two or three years and receive a automatic life ban"

Seriously? Can tell he's a ex-Manc, only ones to suffer from that would be Liverpool! Who would pay £70m for a player that could be banned in the blink of a eye? Who would insure him?

Sure, it might stop Luis but he's not the one that suffers pre-repeated action.

The English 'press' have given more column inches to Suarez than the tournament itself, and even when reporting on games or players not involving Uruguay they still manage to throw his name in or make a reference to biting.<laugh>

Despite all, Rodgers has persuaded John Henry to keep Suarez!

World Cup 2014: England fan bites off supporter's ear

An England fan had part of his ear bitten off by one of his fellow supporters after the team's World Cup defeat by Uruguay last week.

England, who subsequently exited the tournament in the group stage, lost the game 2-1 in Sao Paulo as Uruguay striker Luis Suarez scored two goals.

The victim was left with half his left ear ripped off in the incident, the Association of Chief Police Officers confirmed.

So this happened after the England v Uruguay game. Does this mean that Suarez was actually influenced by the England supporter and is an unfortunate victim in this episode <whistle>

Ironic this happening before the Suarez incident, yet has hardly been reported anywhere and has only since actually come out after the news about Suarez. Wonder if the English press will go ballistic on this or is biting part of an ear not as bad if it's your first offence compared to a little dent in the shoulder <whistle>

Have any of the papers called for a public hanging of the man yet?

Fifa are going to ban him from all football activities, even talking about it down the local :bandit:

him refusing to shake evras hand genuinely cracked me up. other than that probably just how well he played last season <ok> goal vs Everton in particular

Not yet but someone will probably quote how Suarez's behaviour is having an influence despite this taking place days before Suarez on Chiellini <whistle>

The media are waiting to see if the man is caught and are hoping he is a Liverpool supporter, then they will run amok with it.
