300/400 i would guess... you had a lucky escape, it genuinely could have been 5 or 6, if youd turned up not knowing who was bottom of the league you would have only guessed one side...
that is a bit early, but it was obvious even at half time we werent going to score and if people have to be up at 6am for work, then good luck to them getting home for midnight.....i dont mind losing, but just like the previous 2 games, its the way we lost, with a whimper a bit of effort and pride is the least to ask for, and i saw very little from our side, hats off to pompey, put us to shame with there efforts
It's obvious as soon as we go a goal behind its game over. It's either 1-0, 0-0 or nothing. That frustrates me more than anything at the moment, but this constant 4-2-3-1 is doing my head in, people say we play attractive football, but any old ****er can pass it round defene, into midfield and back to defene again. If ever there was a need for a change that time is now specially with Koren out and no appropriate substitute, it's clearer than a drunk mans piss.
I have to say I agree with this article. I love Barmby he will always be a Hull City legend but perhaps this shot at management had arrived a little early, the players don't seem to respond to him like they did for Pearson, I think the reason he started well is that he inherited a good team with momentum. I don't think he'll be sacked but I think taking a step back into coaching for a few years and letting an experienced manager who knows this division and how to get out of it (someone like McCarthy) take over and learn from. The formation doesn't work and without Koren in the midfield we lack creativity and his long-range shooting threat which has gained us many valuable points this season. As Mike Bassett would say - 'Let's play FOUR FOUR ****ING TWO' like in our promotion season. Under Barmby I think we'd have a mid-table finish next year and I wouldn't want to see him sacked. This season isn't over and I hope I'm proven wrong but with the recent performances I can only see us falling short.
It was shyte last night and I think Bob has got it absolutely right. We all want NB to succeed in the job with City. But Dugeon in midfield, do me a favour.Fryatt must be totally hacked off at the moment. Hes already said he hates playing as a lone striker and when everyone else around him is having a stinker it always him that gets taken off. The performance was shocking last night and anyone who wishes to say it wasnt it seriously deluded. I was lucky in that it only took me 10 mins to walk home. If I had come up to Hull and seen that display it would have been a long and miserable journey home thats for sure. Smoe of those players ought to hang their heads in shame at there input into that shambles and the fact that lads and lasses paid a lot of money to come down and watch it. See you on Sat v Coventry.
I think too much is being made of the selection. If he kept playing the same old players and it didn't work we'd be furious so why are we all moaning that Dudgeon was played in midfield? Obviously Barmby knows better than we do what positions the lad can play so I don't think there's any disputing he can play in midfield. I'd be pointing the finger at our style and tactics rather than particularl players and positions.
