According to this bloke: https://twitter.com/mrwayneg He's been working with Becchio on his 'book' for the last 2 months and claims Hull City have already made an enquiry about Becchio.
I haven't posted in ages. He is the best goalscorer in the league. He is the only reason Leeds are there or there abouts. Please please please sign him up Bruce.
Burnsy thinks we're interested, but he also thinks there's Premier League interest and a deal is unlikely.
dont you think fraizer Campbel and DJ Campbell are positive enough. Becchio will have many many other offers for a larger salary that we can offer
DJ Campbell, yes. According to some sources we never actually made a bid for FC! If the press specualtion the DJC might go to Palace, then surely other than Gedo (No English game experience) then Brucie is going to need a back up plan??
agree totally out of our League, until we get to the Premier League, his wages will be around £25/30k per week, his Transfer fee would be anywhere upto £5 Million, god knows what the agent fees would be...NOT A CHANCE IN HELL
City should start talks with Becchio to put the wind up 'arry. If he thinks both us and CP are walking away he might stop pissing about with DJ.
Just text a mate who is a Leeds fan and his response to becchios transfer request is nothing short of hilarious. Apparently he never liked him and he is ****, despite constantly reminding me of his goal prowess. He should stay at a club with a big name.....whoooo a big name! Means everything that, just ask comet, jessops and hmv. Wound me up and made me laugh in equal measures! I then reminded him that Leeds are no longer a big club, man utd, arsenal, Liverpool etc are all big clubs, even Swansea are bigger. He denied the later, but shut up when I said would you rather be Swansea with a great young manager, players like williams, de Guzman and, michu or have a small amount of history.....
A CLUB STATEMENT: LUCIANO BECCHIO Luciano Becchio, who has been the subject of two separate bids from foreign clubs during the January transfer window, has handed in a transfer request to the club, as financially he believes his best interests are served by a move away from Leeds United. Both bids have been rejected and the player will only be allowed to leave in the event that an acceptable offer is received. The club have sought to agree the terms of a new contract with the player, who is already the highest earner, but the requested terms were beyond a level that we could support, particularly in view of the regulations relating to Financial Fair Play that will be effective in coming seasons. It is disappointing that this situation has occurred when he is under contract until 30th June 2014.
Wages wouldn't be a problem if the Allams are still prepared to bank roll a big earner for half a season as a gamble. Did I pick up somewhere we could be offering Campbell £20K+ I just think it's unlikely he'd come here of his own volition, but why not at least have a go?
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/192384-Becchio-hands-in-transfer-request-fact Now don't any of you intrude on private grief will you? ... Promise?
The Allams stated they were willing to fund a 50k a week striker on loan last January to take us over the line. I don't think we'll simply be slipping out of contention without making a splash before next week is up.
