You're understimating the effect playing for Roy Hodgson had on our players. We lost 3-0 to Man City away with Gerrard & Lucas in midfield, we beat Man City 3-0 at home with Spearing and Lucas in midfield. No one is suggesting that Spearing is actually better than Gerrard bit maybe the balance and energy of Lucas & Spearing is better than that partnership, or maybe it was because Dalglish's tactics have benefitted our players and improved them. I am certain you'll see a different Liverpool from the one that played at St James' in December.

I know what you mean; it's not just this discussion but they seem to think they can genuinely go on and challenge for European places etc.. next season; where would that leave us? Yer it's a huge game, i'm not massively confident though, they will realy go for it to stick two fingers up at Carroll. Our young players are going to be really stretched again. All good experience though. I reckon it might be a bit of classic with lots of goals. Aka 4-3! What games they were. As for Newcastle, I think they can push on. In the next 2-4 seasons I would expect them to be around 8th with the likes of Villa/Everton. They do have some pretty good players. Next season maybe not though. They're badly short of strikers!!! Their acquisition of Shefki Kuqi is a Premiership Classic! As for a lot of their fans on here; they're very bitter, childish and hateful. Honestly, I would love it, love it if we beat them!

That was at St James Park you absolute moron. And if you think that team then is anything like the one now... then I feel sorry for you. I can't see us getting a result to be honest, as long as we put up a decent fight I'll be relatively happy.
Newcastle have done well this season, and i think not panic buying a striker after Carroll went was a strong, and correct, decision. Whether his fee will be reinvested by Mike Ashley who knows. I expect a tough game, but i don't think anyone can realistically predict anything other that a Liverpool win. I expect the emphasis to be on Carroll and that he'll get a good kicking, and Suarez to fly under the radar and get 2 goals in a 3-1 win. I don't expect it to finish 11v11. Newcastle have a lot to be excited about next season if the ã35mil goes into transfers and they can keep their mdifield together, the same way we're excited about our potential next season. There are a few posters on here however such as "5 Goals 1 Hat Trick 11 Heroes-NUFC4LIFE" who give the rest of their fans a bad name with their pathetic internet aggression.
