The final week of business
Before that Deadline Day,
Some revel in the madness there
While others stay away,
A week too, when some prices
Hitherto not agreed,
Suddenly find some common ground
So moves can then succeed
I won´t be surprised, people
If some deals dead and gone,
For whatever obscure reason
Appear to be back on,
But personally this circus
Each summer and in Jan,
Becomes more crazy every year
As clubs search for their man
But I´d not be without it
Watching here from afar,
Though in the midst of the turmoil
It must seem more like war,
Good then, to have a dealer
Like General McNally,
Who, like a ´Poker King´ won´t show
His hand prematurely
Whether we´ll see some exits
Before any arrive,
In the days remaining, who knows
To keep our hopes alive,
But please, not Nathan Redmond
As big fish hover near,
In fact I´d improve his contract
Quite soon to make it clear
But otherwise to free up
A place or two on board,
We might expect to say goodbye
To some who´ve been ignored,
