Right, now that my flan de naranja is in the oven, time to look ahead to our trip to the Walkers Stadium. Not a ground to fear, with our results since the turn of the century showing 5 wins and 5 draws in 18 visits. Perez and Vardy are yet to score this season and, given their penchant for scoring goals against us and our generosity in helping players end goalless runs, I can only wish that they have a training ground accident that means that they both miss the game. And if they could involve Maddison as well, I might even start going to church, well depending on the result obviously. Vardy is still reeling from the legal bill run up by his missus and seems to have visibly aged, but is still surprisingly sprightly, for one of such advanced years. No Kasper Schmeichel also has to be a bonus. So, what formation will Ralph go with? ****ed if I know, but if it involves 3 CBs I predict a melt down, on here, Facebook and Twitter, at 14.01 on Saturday afternoon. Personally I would like to see a return to the 4-2-2-2, with the high press, with Che and Mara up front, Aribo and Stuart behind them with Lavia and JWP protecting the back 4. Would it be daft to pair Koptcha with Salisu? Maybe if we have KWP and Perraud either side to be the experienced defenders. Bazunu to start as well. That’s me done. Just hope my new 55” tv arrives before the game as it can be difficult following the game on a 32”. Size does matter, in this case.
C/O @SAINTOSPREY Saturday 20th August 2022 Leicester City v Southampton. KO 15:00 Referee: Michael Salisbury. Assistants: Neil Davies, Natalie Aspinall . Fourth official: Stuart Attwell. VAR:Michael Oliver. Assistant VAR: Stuart Burt.
16:00 KO for those of us watching where CET applies whether it be on holiday or a more permanent arrangement. May your beers be chilled and your hopes fulfilled.
The Midlands Massive are going to the match, first of the season My line up Buzz KWP-Ketchup-Sally-Perraud Lavia-Mara But think Ralph will stupidly stick to his failed experiment with three CBs
If it doesn't you can always come round to mine and watch it on our 12 inch black and white set. Mind you we may ask you to walk around the room with the set top aerial until you get a reasonable picture. Also don't forget when watching in black and white that saints are the team in red and white.
Bazunu KWP - ABK - Salisu - Perraud (if fit) Lavia - JWP Sarmstrong - Aribo Mara - Adams Let's go for it.
I think we will still play 3 CBs this game as I doubt Perraud will be playing from the off! Strange he wasn't there on the weekend against Leeds.
I predict that whatever team Ralph picks (and I think if Perraud isn’t fit to start it’ll be 5-3-2) people will moan. Or they’ll say “I like that team”, and forget they said that when we’re losing, in order to revert to saying “what is Ralph doing”.
God point raised on TSPodcast. Ralph had the substitutions lined up and ready to go - the ones who transformed the game - before Leeds scored their second goal. Remember that when people are shouting that he has no plan B/is inflexible. Vin
Great plan B, sh*t plan A though. Maybe he should put the subs on in the first five minutes of the match. Use plan B for the whole game.
Djenepo apparently did well at LB so I expect him to start there again. Is Romeu injured? Or just out of favour? I fully expect Ralph to stick with 3 CB’s, just to give the opposition a chance. Make it nice and competitive. I would play; Bazza KWP ABK Sally Djenepo Romeu Lavia Aribo JWP Che Mara I think this is the correct number of players.
I think it’s very clear the team we want to see (notwithstanding the revolutionary 7 man line up recommended by DL) I worry that Ralph’s worries about our defence failing earlier with less than 11 players involved could be proved correct However I worry that when we have more defenders none of them are clear on when it’s their turn to stop the opposition scoring On the other hand attack is the best form of defence Hopefully our new young Superstars can assist the old lags to raise their game and beat the underperforming crisp lovers
Well, there's your problem, right there. If you insist on calling your dishwasher unloading regime 'a game', the gods will never take it seriously, and Saints will not get any supernatural assistance. Dishwasher unloading isn't a matter of life of death, it's more important than that. Oh, and we'll win 2-1. I expect.
