lovely day, England not looking so perky, 165-5 at tea. As predicted once he got the 10,000 off his back Cook got some runs, but not pretty. Compton surely has had his chance now, out for 1 again.

Agree Compton probably needs to go. Bairstow's been a bit fortunate today, but I guess them's the breaks. Bairstow rode his fortune, Compton hasn't....

Compton's seriously not up to this level, and I'm far from convinced about Vince.Apart from Root, numbers 3,4 and 5 need to be sorted out sharpish before the next Ashes series comes around !

416 all out. 167 for Bairstow and a half-century for Woakes.

In the interval, I'm thinking that the TMS crew are a little unwise to focus on the work being done by the Lords head groundsman, as it does mean mentioning his name quite a bit. By the way, his name is Mike Hunt....

There will be an hour before tea, if England can get a couple of wickets, it'll be a challenging weekend for the Sri Lankans.

Sri Lankan's gone off at a gallop in reply 27 from 5 overs, do they think it's a 50 over game.......

400 plus should be enough to ensure a draw at worse.....

Good reply from top order, close 162-1.....

Could put England under pressure if they bat all day tomorrow.

What's happened this morning? I've just flicked over and Ceylon are 176/4. I can't keep up with all the sport, Rugby, Cricket ... and Football still to come.

Cook still having an x-ray, so Compton gets to open. Nothing less than a hundred to save his place, I would say.

I can't decide whether to stay with the cricket or watch Slovakia v Gareth Bale.
