So because I think you've been completely ripped off I must be on the wind up <doh> It's called having a difference of opinion.

You've spent close to £80m on 4 decent but hardly great players. That is shocking.

You didn't have an opinion, you just posted a childish comment as usual.

You are the not606 version of a constant annoying noise that has no meaning.

Both season ticket holders. for over 30 years, so yes they seem to know there team very well, unlike you.

Liverpool cant get the top players, as you need to be in the CL to get them, so you get just average players that nobody else wants, and pay way too much for them.
    Good old Kenny D.

And Chequebook Kenny and Sir Alex Ferguson, as both of them went for Young ahead of Downing. Young is faster than Downing, he's more of a goal threat, he's better at set pieces and at least his equal at crosses (probably better) so who'd blame them?

Look, I don't expect Liverpool fans to admit that they would have preferred Young to Downing before this transfer window opened (it's just not your way) but I doubt if any of you seriously thought or think Downing is a better player. I expect Young's superiority to be proven this season, in spite of Downing having a "walking head" to aim for in the form of Carroll.

And as for Fans' Player of the Year, Young had made it clear he would be leaving in the summer by Christmas time last year so was never in the running. I wonder if the fans could cast their votes again after Downing slapped in his transfer request, would they have voted the same way? Because that's all a fans' vote is - a popularity contest. Hell, your fans voted Lucas as your player of the year!

Swearing doesn't make you right! You just posted names numbers and laugh symbols. I don't consider that an opinion. Your post as always was just to get a reaction so that you get the attention you crave.

You are like a wasp at a BBQ.

Damn right. They eat all the burgers and never BYOB. And don't get me started on their inability to choose the correct power tool for the job at hand.

Nobody notices 'most successful crosses' unless they are assists. Ashley Young is 3rd I believe in the assists league over the past 5 years. These are much more important stats. Downing was a good player in a poor Middlesbrough side and only Aston Villa were the takers. He hasn't really stood out for Villa until last season. At 27 you would imagine that he will be hitting his peak soon and for him to only just get noticed by a big club isn't promising.

Also I never put the smiley regarding Adam. I personally think it's a great bit of business.

    Young or Downing...

It's not clear cut who is the best, but they are both not worth what you lot paid them for. I'd wait before forming an opinion on who is the better player, until they've both had 15/20 games in the next season.

Let's be honest, neither Young nor Downing were on 'most wanted' lists for either club's supporters.

We would have both preferred a riskier, flashier foreign player with more upside potential.

But after the fact, you look at the practical merits of the signings and get behind the player.

Actually I've seen quite a few Liverpool players put one of those two at the top of their wish list for realistic transfers. After all, if you want to get the best out of Carroll you will need proven PL wingers who can beat their man and put a cross into the box, and Young and Downing were the only real options outside the top 4.

Oh dear. Look at the actual facts custardy, no point, putting bitter wum articles without actually knowing anything about the player. Its all BS unless you back it up there mr tiresomewum

And Sneijder doesn't want to play for UNited, he didnt 2 3 years ago and he doesnt now. Live with it. Sneijder thinks a move tyo United is a step down from his current standing, and why wouldn't he after seeing the final after he beat Barca himself with Inter

In general, there were far more people in favour of a flashy foreign signing than in favour either of those two.

The second half of your post is what I was referring to. A practical assessement of the signing.

I like the signing a lot. But it lacks the potential upside and excitement of an unknown quantity.
