That’s nothing to do with my post thought. I’m simply achknowleging that it’s very short sighted for everyone to slate Puel even after he’s gone as he’s left us in a stronger position to move forward than he found us. Of course he was going to be unpopular because he did the job Ranieri and Shakespeare didn’t have the bollocks for.

No one watches Scottish football. Ive watched a few Celtic v Rangers came but not for quality of the football. Its a proper pub game, tackles flying in, scuffles, cards etc

Celtic dont have ambition. Try and dress it up however you want but the simple fact is you havent had to have any to win. You havent had any competition to drive you on to win. We sign players out the championship and they become your best players thats the standard up there

What more do you expect Rodgers to do? Win more meaningless leagues and trophiew while you get humiliated in europe

The SPL will never come close in the slightest to the Premier League. The money, fans, stadiums, clubs, players etc

The SPL has none or that. Any decent players move on as you cant match this ambitions or pay that what clubs down here can

There no point getting a new kitchen if you house is falling down

That essentially what Puel was doing. Doing a very good job in one aspect but everything else was going backwards

Do we or not we not have a better and more exciting squad now than when Puel joined?

Did or didn’t Puel do something than both previous managers had failed to do in the process making himself unpopular?

Those are the only two points I made, not talking about houses falling down! I’ve never said Puel was taking us forward on the pitch, I’m talking about the squad.

He took us forward in that aspect but Rodgers has to sort out problems Puel created aswell

I’d say the problem Puel created was in terms of holding the team back and confidence etc, things I expect will be improved no end just by the change. I’m not disputing the change at all, I did lose faith myself after that game last week. I also just think Rodgers has a cracking job to walk into and a brilliant squad, a lot down to Puel. Critisism where it’s due and credit where its due. Love the look of this line up today btw. Just what we need. Long term Benkovic for Morgan and spot on. If Iheanacho comes good it’s interchangable with him for one of Maddison or Barnes

I'll try and cover your points one by one.

1: "No one watches Scottish football", apart from Scots maybe, we have one of the highest attendances in European football per head of population. You've seen a few OF games and you think that makes you expert enough to call it a Pub League?

2: No ambition? We made Rodgers the highest paid manager in SPFL history (£2m PA) and allowed him to break our club transfer record, sounds pretty ambitious for a Pub league.

3: Humiliated in Europe, that's down to Rodgers, Parkhead was a bit of a fortress until he took over, it was him who made us go backwards in Europe and as for "Meaningless trophies", they may be meaningless to the likes of you in your ivory tower, but I can assure you they are not meaningless to the players who win them, nor the fans who enjoy seeing them won.

4: Wow, amazing insight there mate, the Scottish league will never come close to the biggest league with the biggest money in world football, I never thought of that, I doubt anyone ever did.

5: Another spectacular insight, Celtic can't pay the wages clubs in the EPL can? Have you just figured that out? You should write a blog.

Yh I would love to watch Hamilton play Falkirk and Dunfermeline every week

Break your transfer record isnt nothing to shout about (£7M) especially when it was selling a player for £20M

Europe you got humiliated as you cant compete with better teams.

Again record breaking wages that managers in the championship get here now

Its a complete nothing league the SPL

Riddle me this then, if what you say is true, Joke league, "Pub league", "meaningless trophies", "nothing" league etc, then why have your club recruited Brendan Rodgers? <confused>

Makes you wonder why they never just appointed him after sacking Ranieri, before Rodgers signed a contract extension, could have saved yourself £6m <whistle>

I think any English person who has no connection to Glasgow will never understand the fervour of Celtic and Rangers fans. It is far more than football but based in religion and just as importantly social history - catholics often couldn't get work simply because they were catholic. We have local rivalries down here but they no way match the sheer hatred of the old firm. Not surprised in the least that Celtic fans feel the vitriol towards Brendan Rogers.

Hmm I live in Sheffield and it’s pure hatred between the two here. So much that South Yorks Police are trying to stop weekend derbies even early sundays. There’s a lot of ‘plastic’ derbies like north London, Liverpool etc though. I get the religion aspect though adds to it.

You need something else to occupy your time. You were probably ok with taking Martin O’ Neill off us in 2000 when we were building a squad which was getting closer by the season to the top 6, but that’s your entitlement to cherry pick staff from smaller teams isn’t it? See how it feels when the boots on the other foot?

Bottom line is that you need to move on and get on with concentrating on Celtic because no one here really cares much. You’ve lost your manager, it’s not the end of the world.

I never came onto this thread to argue or bitch and whine (you are free to check my 1st post) I simply gave my opinion that Rodgers is not the man he makes himself out to be, and that you should be wary of him, and for some reason that seemed to irk some people.

Like most Celtic fans I was over Rodgers leaving as soon as Lennon was appointed so you should maybe take your own advice and "move on" if you've nothing further to add to the conversation that I was having with someone else.

So coming on another clubs board to assassinate their new managers character isn’t bitching or whining? Whatever.
