it does make me laugh when people start banding figures about how much players will cost , the fact of the matter is its only guess work , nobody knows for certain how much players transfer fees are for and with these new regulations set to kick in you could all be surprised that the pressure to sell players just to get them off the books and not face penaltys from the fa.
ps I don't expect any business to be done between our two clubs and I don't think kasper would demand a fee as high as five million
You say you're under no pressure to sell but what if sticks in a transfer request and says he wants to play in the big league? That is a possibility is it not? I'm no expert but I think it 's common knowledge that when a player wants out it's usually best to let them go for the best price you can get. I can't see anyone bidding £5 million for him mind. I also think Mannone is better and wouldn't cost that much either. Just my opinion.
If he sticks in a transfer request (not that I think he will) he will probably go to a club like Swansea, Villa, Stoke or Sunderland. The clubs that flirt with relegation but are always safe and it will be for a large fee. I don't get the Hull fans love in with Mannone. I don't think i've seen him play a game without a mistake.
"his mistakes have cost us this season?????????????????????????????? What are you talking about? trying to wum I understand, but the reality is that Kasper has been magnificent this season and cannot recall hardly any "mistakes" if this were true he would not be in the team of the season and lots of clubs interested in him silly boy lol
I don't watch you at all really but I have seen him make a few mistakes when I watch the football league show for example. I do think he has improved since Leeds but I wouldn't say he definitely good enough for the step up to the prem. I certainly wouldn't pay 5m for him if I were in Hull's shoes and would be more likely to try and sign either Stockdale or Mannone. Personally if I were them though Alex McCarthy would be my first choice option by a long way, I'd push the boat out to get him for sure but he may end up going beneath the radar
I wondered how long it would be before a Leeds fan turned up, never far away when Kasper is mentioned..... like you say you have not seen him much this season. Luckily like I said he has been great for us this season and helping to achieve the 3rd best defensive record in the Championship after Cardiff and Brighton. Will be difficult to hold on to him but here's hoping!! Not worth 5million, but definitely 3 mill.
You can't have seen him play much for us. He made that mistake for Arsenal in the Champions League and made maybe two or three in his 30 odd games for us. We saw Guzan play at a similar time who's now Villa's first choice and doing very well, Mannone was far better. His record for clean sheets and goals conceded per game is far better than Schmeichel's.
Not going to get drawn into who is better than who because unless you see at least ten full games to compare then it is pure speculation flavoured with a dollop of partisanship... Kasper Schmeichel has improved markedly since he first joined us. He did make a mistake (IMHO) in the play-off semi in rushing out in the final seconds - it was a rush of blood to the head. But to say he cost us the game is rubbish as he had made a number of cracking saves over the two legs. I'd extend that to the season as a whole - he has been in fine and consitent form overall - arguably our best player. He's getting bigger physically and growing in maturity year by year - starting to look a lot more like his dad in physique but also bossing his area and commanding his defence. He's still very young for a keeper so his best years are still to come. 'Worth' in footballing terms is market dependent. Having seen Jack Buckland this season a number of times I would be far happier having Kasper for my club - Buckland has signed for Stoke in a deal reportedly to be £3.3 million possibly rising to just under £4 million. If that's any kind of reliable yardstick I wouldn't contemplate offers of less than £5 million for Kasper - but as I said, it's all about opinion and market forces.
It would be fairly remarkable if Mannone had made the Championship team of the year, he's only played in the Premier League this season.
Now this comment might get a reaction but here goes. I'm fairly sure at times during the season some of you have claimed that you have the best GK, centre half( Morgan), attacking midfielder( Knockeart) and striker (Wood) in the division. Yet you didn't make automatic promotion or even the play off final. Now that either means; A- The players mentioned aren't as good as some of you think. B- The rest of your squad is ****. C- Your manager isn't up to the job. I personally think it's a combination of A and C.
