I can see your chairman getting a proven manager in who will "do a Pulis" like Palace last season. Play-Offs are possible.....
I don't know why Austin is getting so much grief. He's playing in front of the back 4 & his job is to protect them by winning ball/harrying the opposition, then get rid of the ball. Nothing fancy. And that's exactly what he does. He even manages to get in some decent distribution (but not always, I agree). If we were to replace him, who in our squad can do this? Murphy is the obvious choice, but he'd get it in the neck too, as he's a similar type of player with a similar skill level. Cook? Probably, but FFS, the boy's only 17, so it ain't going to happen on a permanent basis this season. It's dead easy to criticise, but not so easy to offer a solution. Anyone got one?
Posted on another thread exactly the same - as these stats prove https://www.bsports.com/statsinsights/football/total-shots-ratio-tsr-shows-leeds-united#.U_pRgqPQplQ
Yes, get a decent manager/coach in, pay them the going rate and let them do their job. Simples..........
I agree with WJ on this one. Austin is very poor on the ball but the work he does closing down, making those tackles and generally getting in the way is irreplaceable within the current squad. He NEEDS to start unless we sign a replacement. And just to get this straight, I am anything but an Austin fan.
