Why not just get a new screen. Cheap as chips and can be fitted in 5 minutes. What type of laptop is it?
Innit! nightmare for a week , but after that you have to wonder wtf windows was up too. Last 5 times longer aswell Splash the cash mate , well worth the investment
I did consider replacing the screen (it's a cheap Lenovo) but it also needs remedial work on partially broken keyboard and corner as someone stood on the bloody thing
Since OSx has become more popular, there has been a 10 fold increase in malware and viruses targeting Macs. Though Apple themselves will deny that there is any such thing happening. @marcusblackcat, what is your budget ? You can get an MSI laptop which is 100% "modifiable", you can switch out any component and upgrade it whenever you want/need. Slightly more expensive initial investment compared to other Laptops (Windows, still cheaper than a Mac) but it can last for ages as you can upgrade individual parts afterwards.

GT940M is the graphics card, which is a v. good one for a laptop. 4210H is just the model number of the processor - it is a 2.9ghz cpu which has turbo boost up to 3.4ghz (fast), LAN = you can plug in a network cable, WLAN, it work on a wireless network (Wi-fi), DVDSM = DVD burner. I checked, and it also has HDMI and Display port output - so you can plug it in to any screen.
Wow I get lessons as well - cheers fella much appreciated! Will have a good look a little later today
I'll buy you a pint if we ever meet up before a game - will that do? (I'm an IT trainer - but I know nothing about the inner working of them - can show you how to make Excel and Word sing though!!)
