Can I just say, cracking sense of camaraderie (spelling??) in this thread chaps.

I've been out of work for 12 months and recently started on the happy pills as it's getting to me that much.

Can we have a Kentish and Arfa's left foot need a job in Kent.....Thread???

Sorry for gushy post but you've made me smile - Do wish I was back up North sometimes!

  3. kk PM me ur email address.

Btw, is me sending my CV with details for my previous jobs not against one of the work acts?

If you're going to look at it please don't send it around to loads of people, just look at it yourself and then delete it. Don't post it on the forum or anywhere else please <ok>

North is best! Having lived down south (London no less) I realise how much better it is here

  9. It's alreet mate, just don't post that on the GC board, they'll tear shreds out of you <ok>

For the first couple of months out of work I confess I enjoyed my time off. It just felt so good to have so much free time to do what you want, but eventually you just get bored of doing all the stuff you thought you loved doing all day, and eventually start to see your bank account decrease in value, and you get bored and depressed after around 5-6 as you wonder why no one wants to employ you.

It may interest you to know that 1/4 people aged 18-24 are out of work and also not in education at the moment, and are in the same boat as us.

When you say you earned 32k last year was that in the home movers area or are you based more in sales? I've never known HMs to earm much commision as its not really additional revenue going into the company, if you are I may send you my CV, working at BT and currently Orange gives me enough experience so shouldnt be a problem getting the job just wouldnt want to add the extra travel if the wage wasnt high enough to compensate...

In regards to people saying their not sure about there experience I worked as an apprentice engineer before hand so had no experience what so ever but you just have to adapt your 'experience' answers to suit what ever you have done in the past i.e talking to your collegues and over coming objections when they have been presented to you and CONSTANTLY mention putting the customer first while building revenue for the company where possible (works for me) <ok>

Random questions Tash, but out of interest, did you do Alevels? And are you still keeping up the running?

  13. I finished year 12 and did my AS Levels, but I didn't enjoy it, I really wanted to leave after a few months, but I was convinced not to.

In my last few months my mind was totally off track and my heart was set on leaving and doing my NHS apprenticeship. My AS-Level grades aren't very impressive really.

I hated 6th form. All we did was copy down text from a microsoft powerpoint. They didn't teach us anything, it was just memorizing text. Also they treat you like a child. Even when you were 18 years old, you had to get your parents to ring up sick for you, you couldn't do it yourself <doh>
