Looking at the fixtures we need two wins from our next four to ensure we are still top 2 on 1 Jan. That's even if Cardiff win their next 4 which includes Boro at home.

I'm confident we can do better than that but what do you all think?
 
Blackpool - tough, I'm going for 1pt
Pompey - anything can happen
Palace at home - again a tight win for me, 3pts
Bristol City at home - I think the boys will be up for this, so 3pts

That's 7pts plus the pompey game.

We then travel to Brighton and I think that's 3pts too!
 
Blackpool 1-1
Pompey 0-1
Palace 1-2
Bristol 2-0

If so, disappointed that we lose our home record but 7pts...I'd be content with it
 
Blackpool..my confidence slipping on this one..would accept a point
Pompey..agree anything.
Palace at home...2.1 Saints
Bristol City..they won't do it twice 2.0 Saints

1st game 2012 Brighton...could be draw..they are beginning to pick up points

That's 7 points (and Pompey) before end of year. Whatever happens it will be a terrific position to find ourselves in. We'd have loved this preseason..the only trouble is that the strong start can make it seem disappointing to some. It's not how you start, it's how you finish (Adkins can borrow that if he likes<laugh> if he hasn't said it already).
 
I just feel that we'll beat pompey and yes, unfortunately lose to palace...it's only a hunch of course...love to win them all
 
Our next four games I can see 10 points

3-2 win against Blackpool.. 1-1 draw against palace.. 2-1 win against Pompey and then beat Bristol city 4-1
 
10 points certainly wouldn't come as a shock (unlike the 8 points we gathered vs Derby, West Ham, Reading & Boro for example - I thought that was 6 points maximum), as that would that match our form to date (3 pts per home game, 1 pt per away game). However I don't think we will. I think we'll probably get 7, but possibly 8.
 
Oh Dear am I alone in thinking 6 points from the next 4 games? Heart says I'm wrong head says we are in our slump period.....ok I'll get me coat.......
 
We've been sussed and teams now know how to play against us so I am afraid I do not share your optimism but I would love to be proved to not know what on earth I am going on about.

Blackpool 0-1
PFC 2-0
Palace 1-1
Bristol 1-1

So my forecast is 2 points from these four games.

You can all shoot me down after Christmas.
 
I think we will win against Blackpool, Palace and Bristol C.

The game with pompey although I am also confident of winning will be the hardest because of the derby factor.

So I will go for 10 points from these games we may well win away at pompey and draw one at home.

But if we are going to maintain our push into the new year this is the sort of points tally we should be aiming for.
 
Palace haven't be so good lately. They got that win against Utd but that's a cup game and is a different kettle of fish.

I'm going for;

Saints 2 - 0 Blackpool (maybe a goal from Phillips)
Pompey 1-1 Saints
Saints 3-1 Palace
Saints 1-0 Bristol City

Need all the points we can get in December, because January and February will be very difficult. Anything less than seven points and it'll start to look like a real wobble to me.
 
Can't see us beating poopey tbh even tho saying that makes me want to puke.

Poopey vs Saints 3-1
Saints vs Palace 2-1
Saints vs Bristol 2-0
 
There is potential for us to win all 4. But I would take 3 wins and a draw at Pompey. I would even take 3 wins and a loss (but that would mean the end of our home run or losing to Pompey which would be very hard to take). But I would rather be promoted than beat Pompey so if I was offered to lose to Pompey but win the other 3 I would take it through clenched teeth.
