That's a ****ing awful decision. Josh King I'd understand. But £25m for ****ing Wilson? Are we TRYING to **** up?
I think the issues between Rafa and board got very deep and nasty. I think personal pride was involved in that decision and not business.
Why would ditch Ritchie? He's still one of the best professionals we have, and 30 is hardly over the hill. Just seems a bit off to give such a committed and hard working player the boot to get a distinctly average lower league striker.
I fire blanks, mate, so don't worry! Surely the "up to" £25m would be with a valuation of Ritchie at what we paid, around £12m, and around £12m for Wilson. Either way, it's still underwhelming but that's to be expected. Charnley - "your budget is £15m, Steve, what do you want?" Bruce - "British players." Charnley - "in which position?" Bruce - "British ones. With big hearts." Charnley - "sure, but what's the priority?" Bruce - "English, preferably. Scotland or Ireland next." Charnley - "what about Soumare?" Bruce - "Sue? Mary? No, Lee, they've got to be fellas, like."
One of my most hated players, after Gayle. Arm-wavy, shouty, mistake making mouthpiece who has contributed to about 4 goals in 2 years.
Haha. I think he's ok. Its underwhelming for sure, but its Ashleys money I don't give a ****. I dont think it will happen anyway.
No, I don't think so either. To be clear, whilst underwhelming, it's better than NO ****ing signing (which is considerably more likely!!) I bet we loan someone from the Championship. Not someone good, by the way, but some knacker to make up the numbers.
I'd personally be happy with the signing if we pull it off, but yeah, more than likely some loan signing.
Mate, there's nothing happening. The journo's who say it is are the same idiots who believe Staveley, and I count the illustrious George Caulkin in that - they all backed the wrong horse. If we sign ****e like Wilson, that's Bruce getting Charnley to work with him. It's the only way it "works" at Newcastle - Rafa's initial stint, Pardew's better days, they worked WITH the arseholes in charge, and not against them. The fans have to hope its enough.
I don't believe in a month of Sundays that Mike ashley during covid will suddenly decide nows the time to spend 25 million on a 29 year old... It's either fake news or the Saudis are about to be unveiled with their own TV deal too
No, its not 25M Deal worth up to 25m. It will include the valuation of Ritchie, who is Bournemouth's actual primary transfer target this month. I'm starting to this this and Fraser might actually happen.
It still seems high.. Im not sure given this TV deal disaster won't impact Ashleys budget even further. I'm honestly starting to wonder wtf is going on
Newcastles finances are some of the healthiest in the league and we're set to sign 3 players for a grand total of less than 25M. Significantly less than we have spent over the past two seasons. Last season we spent like €18m on ASM and £40M on Joelinton. This is nothing.
True but we generally spend nothing... Last season was a rare splash like we did under mclaren.. It really is rare.... Tbh its hardly a big signing really is it.. A 28 year old that's never been anywhere bigger than Bournemouth be bags 8 goals a season.. It'll do through.. Other clubs aren't interested
We might be beating Villa for him - Bournemouth want a player for the next season and Ritchie is well liked.
Yes sorry what worries me there is how, much richer villa are... I suspect asxtyiube pointed out its the fact they actually want ritchie.. Otherwise nufc would've had no chance.. **** it its as good a signing at Wed get so ill not complain... Hopefully he's the player some are claiming
Don't think we'll be splashing big (big in NUFC terms anyway) money on any more unproven foreign players after Joelinton
