Yeah, but investors have cash. In addition, most clubs run with an element of competence and create cashflow from marketing and commercial deals. We pay about £150k a year to Lee Charnley. Not my club anymore. Hasn't been for 14 years.
Yeah it was clear last year that Ritchies legs have gone at PL level. Also correct that Wilson is far better than what we have. He was on the fringes of the England squad for a reason. We have to be realistic about our situation for me, and he improves our squad. Won't happen though, he'll have better options. Him and Fraser would be good signings for us. Fraser an ideal replacement for Ritchie to provide competition in the wide areas. Basically pretty similar but mobile.
Wilson is a good signing - I haven't heard anything about it tho. I dont think it will happen - Fraser yes. It makes sense he'll want to play near Scotland.
Good hopefully it will improve things. Ashley has benefited from the takeover saga on terms of his actions regards his staff and keeping stores open during lock down.. He was for the 1st time ever getting criticism from rest of the countries media
I have to say I did think it looked very much like he was picking the targets, but surely the scouts can still make calls etc
If he is, they're better shouts than our usual targets. Like, actually negotiating with British talent, premier league experience and available? Shocking for NUFC
Just got a notification about it. £25 Million and Matt Ritchie, will always remember Ritchie fondly. Getting too old for the Prem now but, he was a fighter, loyal and scored one or two nice goals. If he leaves, good luck to him
Hmmm I dunno I'll wait and see before passing judgement.. I was on here expressing concern about Joelinton this time last year.. Maybe I'm a negative **** who just gets lucky or maybe it's best to see how well they play
I reread it, says "deal worth up to £25M." Presuming you won't get more than £5M for Ritchie MAXIMUM. Then some bonuses and the like, it won't be anywhere near 25M cash in hand.
