Callum Wilson: Striker set to join Newcastle from Bournemouth in £20m deal

Well Fraser and Hendricks are free sigings. Yes there will be fees attached but still, they aren't breaking the bank.

Wilson and Lewis are a combined £40m.

Those four players are a great, safe, peice of business for me. The only issue is if Wilson gets injured, otherwise a front line of Wilson backed by the likes of Almiron, ASM, Fraser, Joelinton (playing off the wing) and Gayle is actually good enough for mid-table I'd say. I've got no real expectations for Caroll tbh.

Funding wise we haven't sold big but we have cleared out a reasonable amount of wages this summer so overall not a huge outlay (£40-50m), just bigger than I was expecting that's all. By about £40-50m.

Great News as expected he turned down Villa in favour of coming here. Never forget just how much of a draw Newcastle is.

As of now our strongest 11 is
    Dubravka
    Manquillo
    Fernandez
    Lascelles
    Lewis
    Hayden
    Shelvey
    Fraser
    Almiron
    Saint Maximin
    Wilson

With the likes of Ritchie, Longstaff x2, Carroll, Gayle Schar, Clark, Dummett all there too competing for places.

I'd have Joelinton high up on that second list of players competing for places. I think he worked hard whenever I saw him last season and without the pressure of being the "number 9" and being allowed to run in from the wings or ply his trade behind or alongside a player like Wilson we'd see a better player.

Amongst the madness I forgot about our record signing <laugh> but yes you are correct. A new season with less pressure on him might help. A few of the guys on our social have already given up on him. Some would even take as little as ten million if offered. Thoughts?

I can't say I've seen him play or at least paid attention but would Hendrick be better than either Shelvey or Hayden? He was a first team player in a team that was better than us

Nah he'll do fine in a 3 behind striker.. Max miggy and Fraser won't be fit all the time and we need to rotate.

Joelinton regardless of what people think is a much better footballer than Andy Carroll also, so if Wilson can't ply he'll go up top unless we get another loan in

The role was and is the problem with him

Everything, all of the time. Even if it was a direct contradiction of previous statements.

Whatever you think of Chaos you cannot deny that whatever happens he will have told us about it, he has all bases covered.
