Longstaff is giving me serious Yohan Cabaye vibes but maybe a touch better on the ball. I can see him carrying some of the plodders in the midfield this year.
This one I'll lay for the future He's a hard working very nice lad but he's not going to be good enough moving forward and I doubt he'll be seen much in the Premier again if he was ever to leave.
He's back up yes and I really don't want to sound unpleasant because he's very hard working and from the area, but I can only say what I believe and that is that he just hasn't got it... when I say got it I'm talking players that can get in most top sides anywhere... I don't think he's good enough for most premier-league midfields... he's been in Newcastle's due to injuries otherwise he'd already have been phased out.
He's much better than Hayden, but significantly worse than Bruno, Willock, Joe and Sandro. He's a hard worker with limited skill....but then so is Milner who's a massively better player. He's basically the best of the old guard that are being phased out. Does all the above ****e mean I think we should hang on to him? Maybe, but for one last season only.
Don't think he was great. He was good to decent I would agree. Don't think any of our lot were "great" against Spuds. But we won and that was the main thing.
