Has anyone else noticed that usually we don't take long shots we like to pass it wider and avoid shooting from far out. After yesterdays game it seemed we took a lot more longer shots that we usually do. Deano had a couple saved and then also Morgans goal. Do you think that nigel has realised that we have the potential to shoot from further out?

It was partly forced on us by not having our normal target man present. That may have been a blessing in disguise if it means that players will feel more confident about shooting on sight from now on.
i think that we should shot from further out. all of them. the have the ability. could get us more goals from keepers dropping them to people feet and mistakes like barts and kelvins have made
At the beginning of the season we were scoring from all over the park, but latterly we've tried to be like Arsenal and play it into the net. Lambert's absence has made us change and it would be good to shoot earlier as, even if cleared, it can result in scraps for a poacher to score from (Connolly, Lee?). We need variety in our play because we've been sussed.
It's clear that Saints played a different game against Forest because Rickie wasn't available. Notably, Adkins was cock-a-hoop that Saints had played well without him. In fact, they didn't play with the predictability that Lambert himself has said other teams have worked out.
Forest backed off us and Lee Camp looked liable to palm a shot into the path of an onrushing striker. It's the first time in a while that we've managed to stretch the opposition to create space in which to shoot from distance and trouble the keeper. A shot whacked at a defender and falling kindly to an opposition can start a counter attack, which is probably why we've avoided it previously.
