What was that clive, I'm still ignoring you? I presume something whiney and predictably against SG?

Kasper always seemed to be unsure with crosses - if Lonergan can improve on that it would help. Hmm, thinking about it the whole team seemed to be unsure with crosses and set pieces. No-one would have stopped the Soton goals. Too well taken.

Telling me that you're ignoring me, after every post I make, is not really ignoring me is it?

I was actually being serious, I thought Kasper might well have stopped that, especially since it was on the telly. Usually his shot-stopping from ones like that was spot on. It was a bloody well-struck shot, mind. It's far too early to judge whether Lonergan's better or not to be fair with it still unclear whether he's co-operating well with the defence; he got a bit pissed with Parker for failing to find a pass a few times but I think things are going in the right direction.

Clive WTF are you on about having digs at Kasper? Its well known his game is stepped up in front of the cameras.

And after listening to your rambles for almost a year IF I chose to have a dig at a former player then your gonna bloody listen! <laugh>

Do you really think he could saved the first goal at Southampton? Did you see the way the ball bent round the player & into the post?

As a goal keeper myself I would say that is one of the hardest to save, especially the bottom corner anyone worth there salt will tell you thats the hardest place to get to <ok>

Agreed but Lonergran is never going to get better, he is at his peak or should be now. Kasper could get better, I haven't anything against Kasper being sold, just wish the full 1.5 million or whatever it was had been used to bring in better quality than O'Dea

I know how you feel..... oh thats right I am you hahahahaha

Funny thing is there is only me and Clivetime that know for sure that we are different people (or maybe this is an elaborate cover !) - for all those conspiacy theorists amongst you that cannot accept any critisism of the manager... OMG you'll be checking my IP address again lol

I dont think Lonergan is any improvement, although appreciate that the defence is p*** poor and the way we play invites pressure on the back four.I think Lonergan is in for a torrid time this season... unless we get someone in to sure up the back.

You sure? Lonergan's only a couple of years older than Kasper and you can hardly say Kasper's inexperienced. I think Kasper's going to be a "promising young 'keeper" until people realise he's turned 30 and is still playing in the NPC.

Lonergan only 27, keepers dont peak until 30`s, so they say.

As others have pointed out...he should have saved Southampton's first and Bradford's second. Schmeichel would not have been beaten. Shot stopping is essential for a 'keeper, so how has Grayson overlooked this attribute when considering Lonergan? I believe Lonergan was signed as a panic buy and because he was a free agent. This talk of "bigger" clubs chasing him means one thing only, they were looking at him as a backup. I am very disappointed in Lonergan so far, he clearly does not inspire those in front of him. This is the season where all goes horribly wrong for Grayson.

I think Lonergran's been okay. I'd say none of the goals so far were his fault. He's made a few good saves as well. His catching and coming for crosses is better than Kasper. What short memories people have - some of the mistakes Kasper made were basic. Watch the highlights from Millwall away last season, all 3 goals were his fault and he was beaten near post from a weak freekick. He makes amazing saves but lets in soft goals. I'd rather a good all round keeper like Lonergran tbh.

I don't think anyone can reasonably say he should have saved either. He possibly could have saved Bradford's second but it was all instinct and I think he did all he reasonably could to stop it. 1 time in 25 a 'keeper stops a shot like that.

He's only played 2 games. Kasper made a flying start to his Leeds career but then dropped off. Lonergan's made a steady start but may improve and be consistenly reliable. Just a thought.

Agree. A steady all round performer is just what we need after Kasper.
