If you call someone's home city a stabby ****hole then they may decide to defend it. Nothing wrong with that.

 

London is a great place. Steeped in history. Fantastic boozers. Every variety of food you can ever want. There are areas I wouldn’t want to go. Same could be said of Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leicester and Birmingham. All big cities have areas which are dodge where youd like get stabbed or shot for looking at someone in the wrong way.

 

Agreed about people defending where they're from. Comm's a Mackem.

 

Are you from Newcastle? Not a piss take as I seem to remember a few from the Sunderland board were. Had some very good weekends there.

 

Yeah, mate. I'm from Tyneside, so a Geordie.

 

It's vast, and probably great for tourists, as there is so much to see and do.

 

Saffys from Jarrow or Hebburn or somehwere I'm not sure which one, but it's not Newcastle

 

Its still classed as Newcastle as it is on Tyneside. If it is just people that actually live in the centre of Newcastle City then not many people at all will come from Newcastle.

It's like saying if you live in Pennywell, you don't live in Sunderland

 

That's the thing. With the museums the galleries and the parks you could have a really nice day pretty much for free. I love taking the nieces and nephews up there during the holidays - think I have as good a time as they do. Mind you most of what's on display is nicked - no different to Paris though probably....

Pennywell is an estate in Sunderland (a ****hole at that)

Jarrow etc are not in Newcastle, they just have an NE postcode.

Brum, there's a strange place. 2nd city, hardly in the news

 

Down here some boroughs have London postcodes and others have Middlesex. No idea how it works.

 

It was the same here years ago. Sunderland had Durham postcodes. And we'd like to revert to that.
