I feel the ESL drama has saved the club from major fan backlash for that absolute joke of a week we had to endure. Totally forgot this game was on, struggling to drum up the enthusiasm to watch. Absolute true fan, I know.
I watched Chelsea v Brighton last night. It wasn’t obvious who was top 4 or bottom 4. Brighton didn’t look like they expected to lose, unlike Saints at the moment. Brighton took the game to Chelsea and were unlucky not to win. Brighton had no superstars, just hardworking team players. I just want Saints to play as if they aren’t scared of the other team. I think the two 9-0s have left mental scars, so the team are always afraid of another pasting, if they get too adventurous. I know we came back against Burnley, but that looks like a freak result.
Great. Bale will have a point to prove. Plus former club syndrome. That’s at least two goals for him tonight.
This is the only thing that keeps me going with Premier football. We are inconsistent I know but we (along with most teams) are capable of beating or losing to anyone.
I'm sure we'll see him get plenty of minutes before the end of the season. They are all playing for their place in the squad next year now - hence the heavy rotation.
Just fed up of his mediocre, apathetic performances. I can’t remember the last time I watched Bertrand and thought ‘he really nailed it today’. I’m talking seasons - he was great under Poch and Koeman, but ever since then he has been living on past glories for me. Sunday was the last straw for me with Bertrand tbh. Of course we definitely need a replacement when he goes for a free this summer as there is no all out left back available that isn’t Jake Vokins. Note: He hasn’t actually done anything sackable, I’m just feeling dramatic today...
