Is that the fault of the council or the resident for not cancelling a standing order ?

It really emphasises the complete failure of the Council in the aftermath of this tragedy - a lack of action, foresight & empathy.

I was just reading an article in the Mail while having a capitalist coffee, the the person who signed the building off falsified the documentation to say the cladding was safe, he was in collusion with the council. His price for signing the building off 250,000. Greed, pure greed.

Read that this morning - he advised them on what to say, and arguably more importantly, what Not to say

He's claiming he's just the small guy in this whole tragedy.

That may be the case, but if the Council had published "all the findings" of his audit/investigation, it is possible that the London Fire Brigade might have carried out its own audit

You might want to re look at this cladding on four Swansea tower blocks fails fire safety tests.

The Fire safety Officers has to do a thorough test before a certificate of safety can be signed.......So they will have to explain how they passed the work while every single test has failed since the fire....The Council who signed the approval of the materials to be used would have had to have it fire safety checked and again it was passed......The Fire safety department have a lot of Questions to answer as they are always the last to say whether a building is fire safe to use or not....

Swansea Council leader Rob Stewart said it was “unacceptable” that panels which met British building regulations had failed the tests.

He called for urgent clarification from the Welsh Government on what action was needed, and it has emerged that the cladding may still be allowed to remain.

Still not satisfactory in my view...... <ok>

The picture is becoming clearer, that both Labour and Tory councils do not give a damn about the safety of it's tenants in these tower blocks...... <ok>

    Rob is spot on.

The "problem" is that once a Panel has passed the test once, it is certified. I suspect that a "super dooper", well scrutinised (during manufacture) Panel can be put up for the test, but Panels produced in normal/general production runs may not be as well-manufactured and therefore could fail to comply........

Those in charge are all about the money imo ! I wouldn't be surprised if rather than removing all that cladding and the huge cost involved that they mix up some water with some other clear chemical that they say will fire proof them and give them a quick spray to dodge the higher costs involved ? They are that blatant in taking the piss !

I understand that some of the flats are privately owned. If so, what responsibility do the private owners have with regards the cladding ?
