Steve Lomas says the arrival of Scott McDonald is unlikely to be the end of his summer business - but he admits he may have to trim his wage bill later in the transfer window.
He said: "I don't think I have brought that many in - five players and one of them is a goalkeeper. I'm happy with what I've brought in, that's for certain, but four outfield players isn't a massive amount.
"Somewhere down the line the chairman's probably going to say, 'hold on a minute', but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. Once we've improved the areas that will help us we might have to look at the other side of things.

"We've looked at almost every position. When you're not paying fees you've got to look at all those things - you can't just go out and buy a right-back or a left-back for £1million, you've got to do your diligence and have a look.

"I'd be more than happy to go into the season with what we've got, but we're always looking to improve. The chairman has made it clear to me that he wants to push the club forward.

"The chairman and Andy Ambler deserve a lot of credit - they have enabled me to make five signings and hopefully we're not finished yet."

His newest signing was quick to point out his reason for signing for Millwall - Scott McDonald said "Millwall showed a real hunger and desire to sign me. In recent years I've been missing that someone who really wants me to play for their club. I'm excited by it and looking forward to the challenge. It's the manager's first year here so it would be great to get off to a fantastic start.

So who will he get rid of?
My preference - Woolford, N'Guessan, Osborne, Abdou (sorry Jimmy, but your time is up) and Marquis!!
All of those are surplus to requirements and would walk into Leeds or Charlton's team - Maybe Lomas should fax this list to Chris Powell and Mr Potato Head!!

Edit - I wouldn't be too bothered if Trotter went either!!

Jimmy cant go :(

They say no room for sentiment in football but it would be sad to see Jimmy go.

Maybe he can dress up as Zampa if he's not able to get a game.

Chuffed about Marquis real Millwall lad hope we keep him <ok>
looks like im not the only one who sees his potential <whistle>

We dont need Davies we have more than enough fire power now, Both up front and in Midfield,,What we need now is to strengthen our defence <ok>

WE ARE GOING TO WIN THIS LEAGUE IF THEY ALL GEL EARLY DOORS

I guarentee it lads IN HARRIS WE TRUST <laugh>

So match the Blackpool bid and Davies will sign for us instead <ok>

Does our midfield even have room for him?

Chaplow and Bailey I would imagine will go straight into starting 11 and Henry will still be right wing.

Was Davies seen as left winger?

Davies is an attacking midfielder who scored a fair amount of goals in a struggling team last year MFC, if Del boy gets injured assuming he stays which seems likely then we need to replace the attacking midfielder position but you're right as things stand going 4-4-2 they'll be no room for him or Del boy if Chaplow & Bailey play. Henry or Feeny on the right and although Martin is regarded as left sided he apparently likes to cut into the right which would unbalance us so guess we just have to trust Lomas to do what's he paid too and make the decision. <ok>

We'd have to match or better Blackpool's bid before he agrees terms with them so if Lomas doesn't move quickly then it's a tell tell sign that he thinks he's not worth the money because Lomas has moved quickly with all the other players he's brought in so far. <ok>

We should be looking for another quality free transfer anyway :D

The fee for Davies would cover the wages of someone else.

Attack wise we look quite strong now so maybe defence should be the focus as I feel Lomas will be much more attack minded than KJ and we could get caught out if we're bombing forward to much in games.

Is this one of them good news bad news things.
The bad news is the chairman said you can only sign **** players, the good news is there's lots of them.
