Although if you put down our home matches against them as a "must win", which I think they essentially are, that's actually two matches to make up for the ones other than Bournemouth.
Not sure why mischievous needed inverted commas. It was a genuine question, what is this amazing ticket promotion?
I imagine charging £10 for adults and £3 for kids definitely helps when a Premier League team is in town.
I had no idea it was being subsidised to that extent! So all this posturing about 'full houses' and '30,000+ at the match' is just chest-puffing stupidity all along. Silly me for giving it a ha'pporth of credence
It's not really relevant to the teasing, but I think ticket prices for modern football should be around that. Particularly for second division clubs. Prices the likes of Norwich's (along with most of the country) are, to be frank, a bit of a disgrace. You have to be actively well off to be able to afford to see your team. Or you have to make substantial compromises. I know it's tedious and has been done to death, but Germany is so much better in this regard
I may be completely wrong here, but wasn't the season you spent in league 1 was awash with reasonably priced match day tickets? One thing that your club has done well is in capturing the next generation of supporters - An area we have appeared to have skipped over for a number of years That match was in fact a sell out.. probably expecting a handsome victory
You are indeed completely wrong. Ticket prices at Norwich have been high for years due to the demand, including during the year in League One. However, we did good promotional stuff in the early 00's which is why we have larger support now. Was the first match not a sell out because it was so cheap though? Certainly Ipswich wouldn't have taken 5,000+ had tickets been their usual at Saints, of around £35.
For all the jibes around our home support, we do in fact have a very good away travelling.. I would imagine due to the number of Ipswich fans that no longer reside in East Anglia... myself included as I make far more away matches as home matches. I seem to remember Nodge doing plenty of 'kids for a quid' deals in the past few years etc. which can only help... plus it's always nice when it coincides with a good run of form and some success
We haven't done kids for quids for at least a decade. We do good kids season ticket deals though, for the really young. Both Norwich and Ipswich have decent away followings. Norwich in particular considering their geographical disadvantage.
Here's a link to the list of away attendances this season: http://www.footballforums.net/showthread.php/308801-Official-Championship-Away-Following-2014-15 Somewhat surprisingly, Ipswich are way down the list of away support. Norwich are 5th I think. Ipswich 15th. Edit. This is a couple of weeks old, so stats may have altered since then.
We've done kids for a quid for several cup games over the last few years, well within a decade. League games though, I doubt.
Sorry. I meant league games. You're right. A few league cup games v lower league clubs have indeed been.
I think the youth cup games are an important bridge as well with alot of people getting to visit CR at negligable cost. Bah!
