Seeing as the Humberside Police site says they are working with police to apprehend any City fans caught up in last night's events and have the usual blather about policing the home leg appropriately you can be sure all their efforts, cameras and glaring, clueless coppers will be, as usual, concentrated on the City fans in the ground. Outside they know have the perfect excuse to ignore everything else going on in Hull to ruin the day for Lokeren fans with over officious policing of them. More than 3 will have been arrested on Ladies ?Day but that is OK only events at football concern our local plod.
It sounds like the overwhelming majority of Lokeren fans are really decent lads/lasses. I hope Humberside Police don't treat them like prisoners ready to be transferred, but I fear they will after the treatment our fans got from their federal police.
Sadly pazke70 our police are heavy handed but ALWAYS target home fans ie the soft or easy target. If last night had happened in Hull the whole pub would have been arrested names taken etc and banning orders would have been issued just on the strength of being in the pub like at the Eagle after the Millwall FA cup match a few years ago. They will probably wrap you up and put you in an old stuffy working mens club near the ground or would have diverted you to Beverley Cottingham or Brough , outlying villages if you were coming from that direction. Any bets Hessle will be used for any coaches coming from the Humberside airport? Do you know how the majority of Lokeren fans will be travelling to Hull? Air ferry or channel tunnel?
