First of all I hope everyone and yours are as safe as can be. During these times there has been a spike in Mental health issues as I'm sure everyone is aware. The impending lock down has people's anxiety on high alert aswell. I understand that the Radio DJ has always been that friend for everyone, a familiar voice. However, some, not all don't help at all with situations. Where I work the radio is always on so have no choice to listen so can't simply "turn it off and don't listen". Yesterdays topic on a local station was "So, what are you guys going to finally get finished during lockdown 2?", "Steve Carlisle says I'm finally going to get that fence finished", next topic "so yeah, what Boxsets are you guys binging in during lockdown 2?". LOCKDOWN 2? like it's some kind of hashtag.Even before all of this, there was and is this vibe of the world is Monday to Friday, everyone works 9x5 in an office,Mondays are awful, its humpday Wednesday, we've made it to Friday. People work weekends, shifts etc. People will still be going to work throughout the lockdown. Just ground my gears a bit and felt the need to put it out there. Please stay safe everyone and as ever FTM

The entire inane social media take on lockdown destroyed me through our prolonged period of it.

People are so ****ing full of ****.

I'm only on this mate. Joined for some crack, information and to be around Lads fans. So fortunately we're lucky on here. Social media makes most things worse, while it's great for other stuff. I just found it bad taste. I get that DJs are there to do a job, but there's this "yeah we're cool, man" swagger ****e boils my piss.

The **** they talk about trends on Twitter and instagram and they pick it up. It will appeal to half wits but people who are going through a tough time may well find their woes trivialised which is ****ing ****.

Totally agree. Radio isn't what I was.
