Nice part of the world. I looked at the new builds in Ellington and they're really nice, just a bit far from civilization really, at least til the missus learns to drive. Always up Druridge Bay or the other beaches/countryside with the dogs so it'd have been ideal

Yeah, as far as I'm aware there's been very little filtering down to schools other than the guidance on the gov.co.uk website. Mostly they have just got together as a group of head-teachers are decided how they think they are going to run their schools in the area. Hence there has been a LOT of regional variations over even very basic things.

I get that the government aren't going to be willing to share information with schools on a wider basis unless they accept it 100% will go directly into the public domain but the general rule so far has been that the first anyone on the front line in education hears about plans is when it is announced to the country overall. When this was all beginning I'd generally hear it after the pupils as I'd be working after school and one would come in to see me or a parent would ring to find out how it affected them and I'd look like a bit of a tool as I didn't know the latest changes.

What will be being worked on is planning for if local lock-downs have to go ahead but even then the issue is that it is done on a local authority level but since the introduction of academies (which operate independently, outside the control of the LA) this is complicated by some margin...

Aye love it mate. I am up Druridge, Cresswell etc regular on the bikes, fishing and walking. Cresswell is like a hidden gem of a beach really - still not stupidly busy. Spent loads of time up there. From going with the parents, to riding lasses in the dunes, getting baked doing buckets in the dunes, setting fires, camping, boozing, to now just walking with the little one and biking/fishing up there. Never seemed to get too bad in terms of numbers.

I know Millers had a site up Ellington, or was it the Ascent Homes ones? I know Ascent have the land beside ours in Bedlington on the golf course driving range. That will go ahead in 2021 I reckon, that'll be a nice estate and Bedlington is a bit less detached from civilization. I think they intend to complete the site in Choppington first. Millers have started work in Bedlington too down beside The Chesters.

If this work eventually goes ahead in Bedlington to regenerate the front street and attract the likes of Next etc and open the shopping precinct, then the value of property will bump which will be nice  I've told the missus to take a lease on one of the little shops there now to start her business, they'll see a dramatic increase in footfall.
