Due to there serious midfield shortage TWS have now signed up on loan from Stoke City Michael Tonge until december. Oh happy days for the Tigers.
He's only been playing for their reserves though, so hopefully he's a bit rusty for first team and isn't 100% match fit when he plays against us. He can always get injured on Saturday too!
Seems we could now be losing out on Meyler. MON deciding he's worth keeping. http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport...at-sunderland-despite-hull-interest-1-4926091
With the report today in the HDM that Matty Fryatt has had a 3rd injection, and it is now looking as if maybe surgery is needed that will put him out for the season, we despeately need to get on loan a good striker.
If I was a footballer who had to have achilles surgery (where the tendon had to be cut and reconnected) I would consider getting it done to both legs at the same time. The reason is (from my experience) that when the achilles is mended it is more than double the thickness and strength that it was before. I was told achilles weakness is often present in both tendons, so instead of waiting for problems in the other leg Matty could have two very strong legs for the same treatment time. edit. This is a bit tongue in cheek ... or is it?
I don't know about Achilles, but I had a tendon in my foot repaired, and the flexability afterwards is not as it was before the operation. I would therefore doubt they would do any surgery unless there was no other alternative.
I'm not really being serious John, but the achilles is just a long tendon that goes down your calf and narrows towards the heel. The narrow bit is where the weakness occurs, but after surgery it is much thicker and there is no loss of flexibility.
Well Craig you are better informed than me, all I know I was playing football once and one of our players had one snap, and he said it felt as if he had been shot in the foot.
It may well be that he has gont calcification on his achilees. I had that on both in my active days and both had to be opened up and scraped. No a good experience but both where really good afterwards.
Same thing happened to me but luckily I was pissed at the time. I just fell over a lot more than usual, but no-one seemed to notice.
They've put together a decent team, ****ed it up a bit by signing Anthony Gardner, but decent all the same.
Indeed. Act of desperation imo. IF we keep up the Bolton standard for the next 3 games then happy days one and all. TWS will be missing key parts of there engine room. I share your concern John, but dont think we have reached the desperation stages just yet for another striker. With the Loan window open until 4th November Bruce has time to find someone or wait for his main targets. Interesting signings @ the Wendies but will they all gell as a team ? TWT as always. O/T Birmingham City have Lost full back Stephen Carr for 6 months due to injury. We are not alone with them.
While Everton are letting players out on loan, due to them being pretty busy for a change in the transfer market, what about Anichebe on loan?
The loan would be an emergency loan, so the club he joined wouldn't count as one of his two for the season.
They lost 3-0 @ Brighton on friday night and Gardner did not even play in the game. I look forward to seeing them with my own eyes on saturday 6th october @ Hillsborough before i make a judgement. After last night that may prove hard now.
