Loan watch

in the end he has 4 goals and 8 assists in 22 games, so its not "bad" for a 17 year old who won't be 18 til april.

equally it is harry wilson territory so we can't get carried away. Its all about next preseason and season. Can klopp use him or is he already one the loan scrap heap?

(owen, gerrard, carragher, taa, folwer, mcmanaman) Can't think one anyone who's gone out on loan from LFc thats made it long term with the club except origi and he can't count. If you are good enough you break through not go on loan.

Lets see what happens next here as the decision making process with our club and loans seems contrary to what cheslea would do for example.

Comparing him to Mcmanaman is probably best although very different eras.

I don't know. In general he is ok playing right wing but he strikes me as quite different in many ways. If I compare to the more modern day guys klopp has passed over.

Wilson could score but had no physicality. Kent had the physique but not the end product. Elliot seems to have the physicality but has a bit more end product but I am not sure he's all that quick compare to the first team players we have.

Hes gonna n loan because he's too good to rot away in the u23s imo.

Kid needs real games to fulfil his massive potential.

Deffo not on the loan scrapheap imo.

Hes not being loaned to raise his value and be sold like Wilson.

Can't see Elliot playing on the wing because he doesn't have the speed. I think he's more a central player, with his tricky dribbling, quick feet and eye for a pass.

to be fair he’s trying to break into the best team we’ve had in years, something all the above didn’t have to do (even TAA was right at start of klopp era).

as you say haven’t really seen many go out on loan then come back and be involved (grujic, Wilson, Brewster) but I think Elliott is different as he was brought by klopp at a really young age, and had a bit of first team experience so under 23s might be a step down.

we wanted to pay about 1m
Fulham wanted 8m

took them over a year... but the geniuses came up with about 4m as a middle ground. Must have been tricky that <laugh>

Think it was similar with Ings (again); we wanted to pay £3-4m but they wanted £12m. It was settled for £8m.

Until he gets his games for klopp and does it in the prem this is all just hyperbolae.

Let the lad do his thing and lets not burden him massively with expectation. That's my view, we've seen too many as RIP Greez used to point out with Pacheco
You can't stop that, this is age of social media bro, ain't gonna happen. the more well he does the more hype hes gonna get..

Just hope he can rise to it is all.

Seems to be doing quite well in that respect so far.

true, social media generation is one of those that will be look back on their youth with dismay.

Like how people who grew up in the 1970s hide their flared double Demin and mutton chop side burn pictures.

The list is much longer than just Dani Pacheco...

Don't think he's on loan but... what's happened to Ben Woodburn? Not heard him mentioned for ages
