I am not sure about that. If you asked me in August in Byram should be starting I would have had to check who he was, now I believe he should be getting games. That's football though, the hardest part is getting yourself in the shop window to show what you can do, this is what a loan could provide. Tom Lees shone at Bury and played for us last summer on his return. Some might prove themselves by Xmas some may not. We need to be developing players from within the club. and using the loan market to reinforce their development. The way we keep the kids in the reserves sometimes makes me wonder if Bates is expecting a profit when loaning out the kids and misses the point.
Players I would like us to get in loan would be: Ben Watson (OP inspired) Danny Higginbottom (OP inspired) Jonjo Shelvey And a striker but I'm struggling to think who currently. To be honest even Hulse could do a job if Becchio got injured That said, 4 loan signings is a lot and you don't really want to be relying on other club's players as much especially considering 93 days is the max you get them for
Remember it took Lees 2 full seasons (over 100 games) out on loan before he came back almost ready. Id say Byram was an exception to the rule
Have to agree, but consider this - if we did sign him until January & played him every game, what would that do for Becchio's confidence? Might leave us with a BIG problem come January onwards.
Shelvey would be a season loan because of his age, and he doesn't have to be in squad list. It's older players who are allowed on 3 months at a time with option to extend. Ben Watson will be a good addition, but I'm more up for another striker. Still can't believe we didn't go after Ricardo Fuller, he will be good at this level.
Agreed about another forward, I think we're okay in midfield. Obviously someone in to cover the injuries but I think that's just been plain unlucky - most teams only have 4/5 CMs in a squad so for us to have 3 out injured is just typical really. I'd like to see a forward come in on loan at least until Somma's back fit. Still think we need an attacking midfielder/winger on the bench, just someone with the potential to be a bit of a game changer. Someone a little bit unpredictable. I would've given Rogers a chance personally, but maybe Warnock felt he needed the time out on loan first
We're not sure. Danns was complaining on twitter he isn't getting a game and when he did he was worse then awful. I think Nigel has warned him about it and now Danns has to get his head down
Would be an excellent addition. Wanted him to join from palace as he always played very well against us haha.
"...Danns rejected an offer from Glasgow giants Rangers more than a year ago to join City as a free agent...." That was lucky!
confirmed, its Tonge. http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120913/midfielder-signs-up-in-loan-deal_2247585_2917723
