Doesn't seem like any of our loanees in England are setting the world alight. The ones in Ireland seem to be doing much better, mind.
It seems for the most part they are not getting a chance to set the world alight. I really thought Woods would walk into BR side, and Simon's at least get some starts at Fleetwood, maybe their time will come.
I think Simon's not getting into Fleetwood's side is the biggest worry. Ok, he may well come good with them but, since the Doncaster game, his trajectory seems to be in absolute freefall. He's gone from us making him a permanent signing with an eye on becoming the backup to our most pivotal position (if not actually part of a double pivot), to scapegoat for an horrendous performance, to obviously not ready for the Championship, to unused bench player for a mediocre League One team in just over a month. That's some fall.
But Simons should never have gone out on loan, he's the DM that we've needed instead of some lightweight larker from Liverpool.
It was a bit the same with Longman, when he was on loan he was very promising, but as soon as we signed him he seems to have gone backwards. It can only be a attitude thing, as if you need to prove yourself on loan, then once you have a contract you feel comfortable. Unlike Regan Slater has gone the other way, he just gets better, but has a great attitude. Maybe that is harsh, I've been to Fleetwood often during my time in fishing industry, it's enough to depress anyone.
i believe with longman it's more confidence than effort effort is the one thing you cant criticise him for never stopped running but he was scared at times to try things
millwall took longman and norton cuffy (who i rate highly) off at half time they then conceded 2 more goals and lost 3-0 not the best managerial decisions there
Players should do better in Ireland, the standards pretty poor on the whole. It does conform though that the ones that have gone out to English teams are absolutely miles away from competing for our first team
Lets be honest.... it was **** management decision to send Simmons to Fleetwood... should have been looking at a team likely to be aiming for play offs or better...
I think Longman is a decent player at this level. For some reason his confidence took a hit and I also think Rosenior coming in hasn't helped him (my continuing doubts about Rosenior and his ability in terms of attacking phases). Just my view until I can be persuaded by evidence otherwise. Regarding Simon's, I might be wrong but I suspect he's been pretty pissed off by what's happened.
His confidence took a hit because he was a regular target for the boo boys in our supporter base, including some pretty unpleasant homophobic stuff.
