Lovely finish. Nice backheel pass for the hockey assist on their other goal, too.
Villa's equaliser looks suspiciously offside. May have been level with the ball, but I think he's off.

I’m excited about Troy again, after a worrying series of loans last season when he never really seemed to kick on. Hopefully this can be his Oliver Skipp moment.

Of our striking prospects he’s a couple years older than Scarlett and it shows, he looks physically ready for men’s football and I see shades of Kane in his involvement in the buildup play.

It'd be interesting to see them playing together as a pairing in some capacity.
    Maybe next pre-season?

Possibly, though I’m not sure 2 up top fits the bill all the time these days. So easy to get overran in midfield. If want us to have a proper look at him though, assuming he continues to have a good season at MK. Obviously a lot depends on what happens to Kane but getting another academy striker into the picture regardless would be great to see.

Shame on you for doubting him!

I’ve genuinely got huge hopes for both him and Scarlett, similarly to as I do with Skipp. I’m fully hoping, maybe even expecting, that in a set amount of years time we’ll have both up top in the first team.

Not so much doubt as worry. We’ve had promising players before who’ve had bad loans and not recovered from the knock on confidence. He’s clearly a player with many qualities but he wouldn’t be the first to not make it through a period of adversity.

I’m hopeful that we can sign an older backup in January and Scarlett can go back to tearing up the youth teams, he doesn’t look physically ready for senior football yet and it will do him some good to score regularly and spend some time working on his physicality in the gym. Then look for a loan next season. If everything progresses as planned, then I hope we see Parrott as part of the first team picture next season.

Yeah that's the loan system for ya. In hindsight we should've let Parrott go to League One straight away last season instead of Millwall, as for the Ipswich one in January that definitely didn't turn out as we'd hoped. I think he's at the right level and more importantly the right club at the moment with MK though, talent wise he's probably even too good for the division but sometimes an ego and confidence boosting period where you're simply playing well and scoring is huge for a player, especially strikers. We've seen Kane struggle on loan, Townsend rack up 76 of them and Mason only have a few less, whilst it helps build maturity and game time I think if a player has the talent at the end of the day they'll eventually make it in some capacity and whilst I can never be 100%, I'm almost certain Parrott will be a very good player in the future.

As for Scarlett, I seem to be in the minority about him but I think the problem is the system more so than his current physicality (and/ or ability). I think on paper he was/ is fine to be playing most sides in the ECL so far but we've provided him with absolutely nothing in his appearances similarly with Kane and if Kane's struggling to get involved then what hope does Scarlett have at present? What's worse is I think Nuno's trying to make him hold up the ball like Kane can and that's not really his game, he's more of a natural striker than one who can bring others into play. I honestly think if we played the Vitesse match without players like Bergwijn, Dele and Winks and had say Son, Ndombele and Skipp then Scarlett would've likely had one or two chances made for him when surrounded by better quality and in a more, cohesive unit.

Yeah you’re right about Scarlett but I also think he just looked physically bullied out there against Vitesse. As a finisher he’s provided enough evidence that he knows where the back of the net is if we can make chances for him but when things aren’t going your way and you’re getting absolutely battered and dominated then it’s got to be crushing for his confidence. Poor lad looked almost in tears at times.

Missing for personal reasons, whatever that means.
Rather worrying, as was their performance in his absence.
